PostNord tracking: numbers, statuses and pickup times

8 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not PostNord. It shows what PostNord’s own tracking publishes.

PostNord is the postal and parcel group of Sweden and Denmark, formed when Post Danmark and Sweden's Posten AB merged. Track a parcel on PostNord's tracking page or in the PostNord app with the shipment number, or paste it in the box above. The number comes from the shop that sent the parcel.

PostNord tracking number format

PostNord Denmark says a shipment number is usually 13 to 20 characters long: typically 20 digits starting 00, or 13 characters ending in a two-letter country code. The shapes you're most likely to see:

Number (invented)What it is
0007300000000000000420 digits starting 00: a parcel barcode, as on PostNord Home or Service Point parcels.
RR123456785SETwo letters, nine digits, SE: a registered letter or small parcel posted in Sweden.
RR123456785DKThe same ending DK: a tracked item from Denmark.
12345678901SE11 digits and SE: a Swedish Service Point parcel.
1234567890123414 digits: some PostNord Home parcels. Other carriers use this length too.

No number? Ask the shop that sent the parcel for it. When a parcel waits for you, the pickup-code link in PostNord's SMS or email also shows the shipment number.

Lookalikes: a number ending NO belongs to Bring, Norway's post; one ending FI was posted in Finland, where Posti delivers. PostNord also delivers some DPD parcels under DPD's own number.

PostNord tracking statuses in English

PostNord's tracking is available in English, Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Norwegian. The Danish wordings are written separately, so they can say something slightly different. The English ones, in order:

PostNord saysWhat it means for you
We have received a notification from your shipper that they are preparing an item for you. The tracking information will be updated when the parcel is handed over to PostNord. The shop has created the label. PostNord doesn't have the parcel yet.
The shipment item has been dropped off by sender.PostNord has the parcel.
The shipment item is under transportation.Moving between PostNord terminals.
The shipment item has arrived at the country of destination.A parcel from abroad has reached your country.
The shipment item is being customs cleared by us.Going through customs; fees may follow.
The shipment item has arrived at the distribution terminal. At the terminal that serves your area.
The delivery of the shipment item is in progress.Out for delivery.
Delivery was not possible. The recipient will get a notification with information on where the shipment item will be available for collection.Missed delivery. A notice tells you where to pick it up.
The shipment item has been delivered to a service point.Ready for pickup at the service point named in the scan.
The shipment item has been delivered.Delivered, or picked up after a service-point scan.
The address is incomplete.PostNord can't deliver to the address it has. Contact the shop.

The confusing one is The shipment item has been delivered to a service point.: the parcel is waiting for you, not delivered to you. The shipment item is being held at a distribution terminal awaiting the booked delivery date or, awaiting an agreement of delivery with the recipient. is not a problem: the parcel waits for a booked delivery day.

PostNord delivery failed: service points and parcel boxes

These rules are PostNord Denmark's. In Sweden, Norway and Finland, check postnord.se, postnord.no, postnord.fi or the app.

Delivery times. Weekdays between 07:00 and 21:00, with no more precise time. Parcels for a Pakkeshop (service point) or parcel box arrive Monday to Saturday.

Not home. A parcel that doesn't fit your letterbox goes to a Pakkeshop. With the FlexChange link in PostNord's SMS or email, or under "Opdatér levering" in the app, you can let the driver leave it at your address at your own risk, or pick another Pakkeshop. You can't choose the delivery day.

A note, SMS, email or app message tells you where it waits; terminals don't hand out parcels.

How long it waits. 7 days at a Pakkeshop (14 if you got a letter asking you to collect it), with no extension. 3 days in a parcel box, which the app can extend to 7. Then it goes back to the sender.

Picking it up. Show the pickup code from the SMS, email or app; no ID needed. Without one, show the last 4 digits of the parcel number and ID. Parcel boxes open with the app over Bluetooth. Someone else can collect with your notice or forwarded message and their own ID.

PostNord can't correct a wrong name or address: an undeliverable parcel goes back to the sender.

PostNord parcel delayed, lost or damaged

Stuck on the first status. If only the shop's notification shows for several working days, PostNord Denmark asks you to contact the sender, who must start a trace. More in tracking that isn't updating.

Lost or damaged. Contact the shop: in Denmark the sender files the claim. In Sweden, the consumer authority Konsumentverket says the shop is responsible for the parcel until it reaches you; complain to the shop in writing and document damage at once. Without a promised date, an order counts as late after at least 30 days.

Marked delivered, not received. In Denmark, contact PostNord by chat in the app or with its contact form. See delivered but not received.

Customs in Denmark. Goods from outside the EU carry 25% VAT and PostNord's import fee of DKK 225. Since 1 July 2026 duty applies at any value: €3 per item line under €150. Pay within 10 days in the app, or by SMS or letter, or the parcel goes back; it's delivered within five working days of payment. Charged again after paying VAT at checkout? The shop didn't pass on the VAT details: pay and ask the shop for a refund, or refuse the parcel. More in parcels held at customs.

PostNord customer service: chat, form and app

As listed on PostNord's pages on 12 October 2026:

  • Denmark: chat Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 16:00, in the PostNord app under "support" or in Tracking under the parcel; customs questions on chat Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 14:00. A chatbot answers around the clock, and there's a contact form. PostNord Denmark has no phone line.
  • Sweden: customer service on postnord.se or in the PostNord app.
  • Norway and Finland: customer service on postnord.no or postnord.fi, or in the app.

PostNord parcel tracking with Peek

Peek names a postal number ending SE or DK, or 11 digits plus SE, as PostNord's straight away. For a 20-digit number starting 00 with Sweden's or Denmark's prefix, Peek asks PostNord first, together with Swiss Post Cargo, USPS and NZ Post, and says "PostNord has this parcel." when only PostNord knows it. Other 10- to 20-digit numbers, such as a DPD number PostNord delivers, work after "Change". Links from tracking.postnord.com work with any number; postnord.se, .dk, .no and .fi links only with an SE or DK number inside.

Peek shows PostNord's English statuses as written, with each scan's place, the sender, service name, weight, dimensions, destination country and, while the parcel waits, the service point's address. It leaves out SMS and email notices and flags The shipment item has been stored. as a problem. It checks every 10 minutes (every 2 once out for delivery), draws each scan on a map and can notify you of changes. It drops your name and shows no expected delivery, even when PostNord's own tracking gives one.
