Bring tracking: numbers, statuses and pickup deadlines

7 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not Bring. It shows what Bring’s own tracking publishes.

Bring is the parcel brand of Posten Bring, Norway's state-owned postal group; Posten is its brand for people in Norway. Both share one tracking: use sporing.bring.no, sporing.posten.no or the Posten app, or paste the number in the box above. The number comes from the shop, or from Bring or Posten by SMS or email.

Bring tracking number format

Bring says an item or parcel number generally has 13 characters (two letters, nine digits, two letters), or is a series of 18 digits starting with 3 or 17 digits starting with 7. Enter the whole combination.

Number (invented)What it is
RR123456785NOTwo letters, nine digits, NO: an item number.
37012345678901234718 digits starting with 3.
0037000000000000000400 and an 18-digit number starting 370: 20 digits in all.
7000000000000000317 digits starting with 7.

Where to find it. In the shop's shipping email, in an SMS or email from Bring or Posten, or as a barcode on Posten's mailbox notice. Bring's own tracking also accepts the sender's reference or your mobile number.

For a consignment of several parcels, Bring's page lists each parcel's own number.

No result? Check that the parcel went with Posten or Bring, and that you didn't enter an order number. Lookalikes: a postal number ending SE or DK is PostNord's, one ending FI belongs to Finland's Posti.

What Bring's tracking statuses mean

Bring's tracking opens in Norwegian on sporing.posten.no and sporing.bring.no, with a switch to English; tracking.bring.se and tracking.bring.dk show Swedish and Danish. There's no Finnish. The English wordings, in the order a parcel meets them:

Bring saysWhat it means for you
The sender has let us know that a parcel is on its way.The shop has booked the delivery. Bring doesn't have the parcel yet.
The shipment has been handed in to Bring.Bring has the parcel.
The shipment was delivered after the deadline and will be sent the next working day.Handed in after the day's cut-off. It leaves the next working day; nothing is wrong.
The shipment has arrived at the terminal. At one of Bring's sorting terminals.
The shipment being processed for import.Going through customs (Bring's grammar).
The shipment has been temporarily placed in warehouse.Waiting at the local depot for the delivery run.
The shipment is unfortunately delayed and will be forwarded by first possible dispatch.Delayed, and leaves with the next transport.
The parcel is now on its way to the delivery address.Out for delivery.
The parcel is ready for pickupWaiting for you at the pickup point named in the tracking.
The parcel has been delivered in your mailbox or outside your door.Delivered.
The shipment has been returned. On its way back to the sender, for example after the pickup deadline.

The shipment has been temporarily placed in warehouse. sounds like storage, but the Norwegian original means the depot that sends out the delivery vans. Lines such as Home delivery date is changed. or The recipient has selected a desired delivery location. record a change to the delivery; the parcel hasn't moved.

Gaps are normal. Bring and Posten say there's no tracking between terminals, which can take 1 to 4 days. See tracking that isn't updating.

Bring pickup point, parcel locker and home delivery

These rules are for Norway; in Sweden and Denmark, check bring.se or bring.dk.

Where it waits. At a post office, a Post i Butikk (post in a shop) or a Pakkeboks parcel locker, as the tracking usually says; terminals aren't pickup points. Lockers take parcels up to 10 kg. You're told by the Posten app, SMS or email, with up to two reminders.

How long it waits. Posten's current deadlines:

  • Pakkeboks locker: 4 days, extendable free of charge to 7.
  • Other pickup points: 7 days, extendable free of charge to 14 in the Posten app or by SMS, for a limited period.
  • Parcels with only a paper notice, such as some from abroad: 14 days.

Some senders allow no extension, and the tracking page shows each parcel's own deadline. An uncollected parcel goes back to the sender. Take ID: some parcels need it.

Home delivery. If you chose it in the shop, Posten delivers on weekdays, 17:00 to 21:00 in towns and 08:00 to 16:00 elsewhere. To move a pickup-point parcel to your door, use the link in the message: NOK 75 before it reaches the pickup point, NOK 100 after; not for locker or customs parcels.

Sweden and Denmark. In Sweden, the first reminder offers 7 extra days at an ombud (agent). In Denmark, a missed home delivery returns to the terminal with a drop card; book a new one by phone or online.

Bring parcel delayed, lost or damaged

Not moving. If nothing updates in the expected time, Bring asks you to contact the sender, who can check whether the parcel was handed in.

Damaged or missing items. Bring says a claim must come from the sender or whoever paid for transport; as the recipient, tell the shop as soon as possible. Bring's deadlines: visible damage or missing items at once, on receipt; hidden damage within 7 calendar days; other issues such as delay within 14 days of delivery. Every claim expires after a year. Take photos and keep the goods. Marked delivered but not there? See delivered but not received.

Customs in Norway. From shops in Norway's VOEC scheme (items under NOK 3,000), nothing is due on arrival. Otherwise Posten charges NOK 46 to clear a parcel worth up to NOK 500, NOK 78 up to 3,000, NOK 278 above. Pay in the Posten app, Digipost or by letter. More in parcels held at customs.

Tracking Bring parcels with Peek

Peek names a postal number ending NO as Bring's straight away when its check digit is valid. The 18-digit 370/373 numbers, the 20-digit barcodes starting 00370 or 00373 and 17-digit numbers starting 70 are shared with other carriers, and Peek can't ask Bring whether it knows them: tap "Change" and pick Bring, listed first under "Fits this number", unless a tracking service names it. Links from sporing.bring.no, sporing.posten.no and tracking.bring.com, .se or .dk work with any number. A multi-parcel consignment number isn't tracked; use each parcel's number.

Peek shows the status, each scan's town on a map, the sender, service, weight, dimensions, the expected day when Bring gives one and, while the parcel waits, the pickup point's name. Instead of Bring's sentences, each step gets a short label such as "Handed in", "At terminal" or "Ready for pickup". It drops addresses, photos and the pickup code, checks every 10 minutes (every 2 once out for delivery) and can notify you of changes.
