DPD Ireland tracking: statuses, Pickup points and contact
DPD Ireland delivers parcels across the whole island of Ireland, North and South, from 38 depots and a head office in Athlone. To track a parcel, enter its number on DPD Ireland's tracking page. The number is in the email DPD sends when it collects your parcel, and usually in the shop's shipping email too.
Where is my DPD Ireland tracking number?
DPD calls it your parcel number or DPD tracking number; its tracker calls it a "consignment". When DPD collects your parcel, it emails you the number with the expected delivery date. The shop has it too, in its shipping email or on your order page. Lost it? See how to find your tracking number.
DPD Ireland doesn't publish the number's format. The ones seen on its tracker are digits only, usually 9 of them:
| Number (invented) | What it is |
|---|---|
123456789 | The usual DPD Ireland number: 9 digits. |
1234567890 | Now and then 10 digits. |
12345678901234 | 14 digits: a DPD parcel number from DPD UK or another DPD country, not DPD Ireland. |
Numbers this short are shared with other carriers, so the digits alone don't prove who has your parcel. DPD's email and the shop's message do.
DPD Ireland tracking statuses explained
DPD Ireland's tracker, in English only, lists each step with a location (usually a DPD depot or "Head Office") and a date and time. These are the lines you're most likely to see, in order:
| DPD Ireland says | What it means for you |
|---|---|
Order received / DPD awaiting parcel | The shop has booked the delivery. DPD doesn't have the parcel yet. |
Parcel collected by DPD Driver | DPD, or a DPD partner abroad, has picked the parcel up from the sender. |
International Hub - In Transit | Passing through a DPD hub in another country on its way to Ireland. |
Your parcel is travelling through the DPD network | In transit inside DPD's network. |
DPD IE UK Inbound | The parcel has come in from DPD's UK network and reached an Irish depot. |
Parcel going through Customs process | Held for customs, on parcels from outside the EU. |
Your parcel is on a van and due for delivery | Out for delivery today. The tracker adds the expected delivery time. |
We tried to deliver but you weren't home | A missed delivery. The tracker offers a link to rearrange it. |
Delivered Consignee | Handed to you ("consignee" is DPD's word for the addressee). |
Delivered Safe Place | Left in your safe place. Delivered Letterbox means your letterbox. |
If the tracker says We couldn't locate the consignment number., the parcel may not have reached DPD's sorting hub yet, or the number is more than six months old.
DPD Ireland delivery, Pickup points and missed parcels
Notifications. After the first email, DPD confirms the delivery one day in advance. On the day, it sends an email and/or a text saying the parcel is out for delivery, with an estimated one-hour window. With Predict, the tracking shows how many stops are left before the driver reaches you, and a live map follows the van.
Changing the delivery. With MyDPD or the DPD Ireland app (Parcel Wizard), you can:
- change the delivery address up to the day before the delivery date;
- reschedule for another day;
- send the parcel to your local Pickup point and collect it when it suits you;
- authorise a safe place at your home.
Not in. If you haven't changed anything in advance, DPD's policy is to deliver anyway: the driver leaves the parcel with a neighbour or in a safe place at your property, and DPD tells you where. Drivers photograph every delivery, and DPD emails you a link to that proof-of-delivery photo. Tracking says delivered but you can't find it? See delivered but not received.
Pickup points. DPD has almost 600 Pickup locations around the island, in shops and petrol stations, often open longer hours. Parcel Wizard texts you when your parcel is ready to pick up. DPD Ireland's pages don't say how long a Pickup point keeps a parcel or which ID to bring. DPD's site announces a 24/7 Pickup network as "coming soon", so don't count on lockers yet.
DPD Ireland parcel not delivered, delayed or lost
No update or late. Ireland's consumer agency, the CCPC, says the shop you bought from is responsible for getting the goods to you, even when it uses a courier. If the order is late, contact the shop and agree a new date. If that date also passes, you're entitled to a full refund. With no date agreed, the shop has 30 days from your purchase.
Lost or damaged. The shop holds the contract with DPD, so it makes the claim. Under DPD Ireland's terms, the sender must tell DPD in writing within seven days of the expected delivery date for a parcel that never came (or within seven days of delivery for damage), and send the claim form within 21 days. So tell the shop quickly.
Customs. Parcels from outside the EU, Great Britain included, can owe duty and VAT. Since 1 July 2026, Revenue charges €3 customs duty per item on parcels up to €150, and from 1 November 2026 a €2 handling fee per item will apply. If you didn't pay at checkout, DPD asks you to pay by SMS and/or email before it delivers, and returns the parcel to the sender if you haven't paid within 5 working days. Parcels from Northern Ireland are not affected. More in parcels held at customs.
DPD Ireland contact number and customer service
As listed on dpd.ie on 11 October 2026:
- Web form: "Ask Our Team a Question" on the contact page. Customer service hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 10:30am, excluding public holidays.
- Chatbot: on dpd.ie, which can connect you to an agent during those hours.
- Your depot: the tracker's Location column names the depot handling your parcel. The Depot Finder lists each depot's phone number, email and hours, mostly Monday to Friday 9:00 to 18:00 and Saturday 9:00 to 10:30.
DPD Ireland's contact pages give no customer-service phone number or email.
Tracking DPD Ireland parcels with Peek
Peek reads DPD Ireland's own tracker, with no account or postcode. It shows each scan in DPD's words with the depot that made it, under a headline in its own words ("Out for delivery", "Delivered"). Once the parcel is on the van, DPD's delivery window becomes the expected delivery and checks go from every 10 minutes to every 2. A delivered parcel shows the time of DPD's delivery scan.
Scans from DPD networks abroad have no time zone, so they stay out of the history. While the latest scan is one of those, Peek dates the history from universal tracking services and asks DPD Ireland again every 6 hours; if none answers, it shows DPD Ireland's current status, dated when Peek saw it.
Peek doesn't recognise DPD Ireland from the number alone, nor ask it whether it knows a number. Most 9-digit numbers get no carrier; some match TNT's pattern, and TNT is asked first. A 10-digit number is asked of other carriers. Either way, press "Change" and pick "DPD Ireland", or paste a dpd.ie link with /tracking/?consignmentNumber=, which names DPD Ireland straight away. tracking.dpd.ie links aren't read.
Questions about DPD Ireland tracking
Does DPD Ireland have a customer service phone number?
No customer-service number is published on dpd.ie. Use the web form or the chatbot, or call the depot named in your tracking, whose number is in the Depot Finder.
Why is my DPD Ireland tracking not working?
The tracker only takes digits, so enter the number without spaces. If it still can't find it, the parcel may not have reached DPD's sorting hub yet, or the number is more than six months old.
Are DPD Ireland text messages real?
DPD Ireland does text you, on the delivery day and when customs charges are due. Fake payment messages exist too: a genuine customs request comes from a dpd.ie address and names the sender.
How long does DPD take to deliver in Ireland?
It depends on the service the sender picked. DPD Ireland offers next-day delivery across the country, and next-day or two-day delivery to the UK.
