DPD France tracking: numbers, statuses and Pickup relays
DPD France, called Exapaq until 2015, is the French parcel network of Geopost, part of the La Poste group. Track a parcel on trace.dpd.fr, with the link in DPD's SMS or email, or by pasting the number in the box above. The number is in the shop's shipping confirmation or in DPD France's own email or SMS.
DPD France tracking number: where to find it
DPD France says its parcel numbers start with 250, 1 or 0 and have 12 to 15 digits. No number at all? DPD says only the sender has it, so ask the shop, or see where else to find a tracking number.
| Shape (invented) | What it is |
|---|---|
250000000000000 | 15 digits starting 250: the usual DPD France parcel number. |
2500000000000009 | 16 digits: the same number plus a check digit, as printed on the label. |
10000000000000 | 14 digits starting 1: another DPD France parcel number shape. |
012345678901 | 12 digits starting 0: a shorter DPD France shape. |
DPD's tracking also takes the number on a delivery notice (avis de passage) or a Predict SMS code, and asks for no postcode. A genuine DPD France SMS comes from the sender name "DPD France".
Fourteen digits followed by a letter (00000000000000U) belongs to other DPD networks or Chronopost, not DPD France. Parcels from DPD UK, DPD Germany and other DPD subsidiaries are sometimes handed to Chronopost on arrival in France: DPD France then shows Numéro de colis inconnu (parcel number unknown) and points you to Chronopost's tracking.
What DPD France's tracking statuses mean
These are DPD's French wordings, the ones Peek shows. trace.dpd.fr also has an English version, whose progress bar reads Handed to DPD, In transit, At parcel delivery center, Out for delivery and Delivered. Some steps may be worded differently.
| DPD's status | What it means for you |
|---|---|
Colis en préparation chez l'expéditeur | The label exists, but the shop hasn't handed the parcel over yet. |
Colis pris en charge par DPD France | DPD France has the parcel. |
Colis en cours d'acheminement | It's moving between DPD's sorting centre and depots. |
Colis en agence DPD France | It's at the depot that will deliver it. |
Colis en livraison | It's out with the driver today. |
Livraison reportée, prise de rendez-vous nécessaire | Delivery postponed: book a new slot. |
Colis à disposition du destinataire au point relais Pickup | Waiting for you at a Pickup relay. |
Colis à disposition à l'agence DPD | Waiting for you at the DPD depot. |
Colis refusé, en attente de vos instructions | Refused; DPD waits for the sender's instructions. |
Colis livré | Delivered, at your door or collected at a relay. |
Colis en retour vers l'adresse d'expédition, en attente de livraison chez l'expéditeur | Going back to the sender. |
Until the parcel is handed over, DPD says only the sender can answer questions. Colis en agence DPD France can repeat while the parcel stays at the depot. Numéro de colis inconnu usually means DPD doesn't have it yet: wait a few hours, then check the number.
DPD parcel not delivered: Predict, Pickup relays and lockers
DPD France delivers Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and on Saturday, 8am to 3pm, for some postcodes.
Predict. If the sender chose it, you get an SMS and email with the planned day, then a 3-hour slot on the day. Through the link or the myDPD app you can pick another day or address, a Pickup relay, the depot, a neighbour or a safe place, as the sender allows, until 11pm on the day of the message.
Missed delivery. The driver leaves a notice in your letterbox; reschedule online. With Predict, the parcel may go to a nearby Pickup relay instead. DPD France states no number of attempts: its terms say the parcel comes again the next day or on a date you or the sender give.
Pickup relays keep a parcel 9 calendar days. Bring your ID: DPD says the Pickup Pass QR code or parcel number alone isn't enough. Someone else needs a proxy, your ID and their own.
Pickup lockers, mostly open around the clock, take parcels up to 20 kg; open with the code or QR code DPD sends. The parcel waits 5 calendar days.
At the depot, you have 6 working days per DPD's FAQ (its terms say 5), with ID and the parcel or notice number. Uncollected parcels go back to the sender.
DPD parcel late, lost or damaged
For a delay, or a parcel customer service has declared lost, DPD France sends you to the sender, who holds the contract; DPD's delivery times aren't guaranteed. See also tracking that isn't updating.
Tracking says Colis livré but nothing arrived, or the parcel isn't at the relay? Customer service can open a search; see also delivered but not received.
Damaged or incomplete: refuse it, giving the reason (it goes back to the sender), or accept it with precise, dated, signed reservations. Then send DPD France a registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt and 4 photos. DPD's FAQ gives private recipients in France 10 working days, its terms only 3, so send it soon. Keep the goods for 15 days.
DPD France contact number and customer service
DPD France's channels, as read on 11 October 2026 on its customer service page:
- Phone 09 70 80 85 66 (+33 9 70 80 85 66 from abroad), charged as a normal call, Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 6pm, except public holidays. DPD calls it its only official customer service number.
- Contact form on the same page, with the parcel or notice number and delivery postcode. There's no public email address.
- Private messages via WhatsApp, Messenger or X, linked from that page.
These cover parcels in DPD France's network; DPD France gives no separate number for Belgium or Switzerland.
Tracking DPD France parcels with Peek
Peek recognises the 15-digit number starting 250 at once. Other shapes, including the 16-digit label form, are shared with other carriers, and Peek can't ask DPD France about them, so you'll usually press "Change" and pick DPD France. trace.dpd.fr links work (/fr/trace/ and /trace-particuliers/). Other links, such as /en/trace/ or www.dpd.fr ones, work only when they hold the 15-digit 250 number, and dpd.com links with parcelNumber= are read as DPD Switzerland.
Peek shows the status, the history with each scan's depot, the expected day, the weight and the delivery time, and maps the delivering depot. Statuses stay in French, times in Paris time. It drops your name and address, the signature and the customer reference, and shows no relay's name or address, only "Ready for pickup". If DPD shows an outbound and a return trip, Peek keeps the one for your number. It follows no other carrier.
Peek checks every 10 minutes, every 2 once the parcel is out for delivery, and can notify you when the status changes.
