Slovenská pošta tracking: Slovak Post numbers and statuses

7 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not Slovenská pošta. It shows what Slovenská pošta’s own tracking publishes.

Slovenská pošta (Slovak Post) is Slovakia's national post. Track an item on its English Tracking of Items page, in its app or by pasting the number in the box above. The number comes from the sender: the shop's shipping email or order page.

Slovenská pošta tracking number

Slovak Post uses the international postal format: 13 characters, two letters for the service, eight digits, a check digit and the country code. Items posted in Slovakia always end in SK. In the box above, spaces and lower case don't matter.

Shape (invented)What it is
RR123456785SKAn item posted in Slovakia: two letters, nine digits, SK.
CP123456785SKThe same shape with another service code.
RR123456785CNAn item coming from abroad keeps the foreign post's number, ending in the country it came from.

Not every item has a trackable number: if the sender didn't give you one, Slovak Post says it probably can't be tracked. If the sender entered your email or phone, the item appears in Slovak Post's app once you confirm you're the addressee. Can't find the number? See where else to find a tracking number.

A 14-digit number starting 703 is the shape Slovak Parcel Service uses, a private courier, not Slovak Post. A postal number ending CZ belongs to Česká pošta. Slovak Post adds that a "tracking number" in any other shape is a sign of a scam message.

What Slovak Post tracking statuses mean

Slovak Post's tracking gives every step in Slovak and English: the main page posta.sk/sledovanie-zasielok shows Slovak (Podaná, Prevzatá na doručenie, Doručená), the English page shows the wordings below. Steps abroad come from the other country's post and name only the country.

Slovak Post's statusWhat it means for you
PostedHanded in at a post office or regional hub: the first step.
In transitMoving between postal centres or on its way to you.
Departure from outward office of exchangeIt has left the sending country.
Arrival at inward office of exchangeIt has reached the destination country's international office.
Presented to import CustomsIt's with customs in the destination country.
Out for deliveryTaken out by the carrier for delivery.
Deposited - addressee not availableNobody was in: it waits at the post office.
Delivered to addresseeDelivered. Abroad, delivered by the destination post.
Picked upYou (or someone you sent) picked it up at the post office: delivered.
Unclaimed - sent backNot picked up in time: it's going back to the sender.

Picked up doesn't mean a courier collected the item from the sender: it was picked up at the post office, so it's delivered. A few answers replace the whole history. The item has not been posted by the sender yet means the sender has the number but hasn't handed the item in. We do not register any data for the item means Slovak Post has nothing yet, not that it's lost. Tracking is not provided for this type of item. means that type of item isn't tracked.

Delivery, BalíkoBOX and post office pickup

Slovak Post delivers at least once every working day. Items can go:

  • To your address or letterbox. If you're out, or it doesn't fit, it waits at the post office with a notice.
  • To a BalíkoBOX, a locker open 24/7. Its PIN comes by SMS, email or the app; cash on delivery is paid by card.
  • To a PoštaPOINT partner point or a post office.

How long it waits. Parcels and Expres items wait 10 calendar days, letters up to 18, unless the sender shortened that. In a BalíkoBOX the item stays a short time (at least 2 calendar days, says the web page), then moves to a post office until the 10 days are up. The day of the missed delivery isn't counted, and an item nobody picks up goes back to the sender. The addressee, someone they authorise or a household member may pick it up; for an item with a PIN, whoever has the PIN.

Changing delivery. Enter the number on the tracking page or in the app to see the options:

  • free redelivery after a missed delivery, once per item, at the earliest the working day after you ask;
  • extending the pickup time up to 30 days, once per item;
  • free delivery to another address or pickup point, once, asked at least 4 days before the pickup time ends;
  • a free change of delivery day for parcels and Expres items, before the item is out for delivery, up to the 8th working day after posting.

Slovak Post parcel stuck, delayed or lost

If nothing changes for days, Slovak Post says the item may still be in processing, waiting for customs or on its way to the destination country, and to contact customer service if it lasts. More in tracking that isn't updating.

Customs. For items from outside the EU, Slovak Post can act as your customs declarant. It tells you by app, email or notice; you send documents through tracking, the app or email, pay duty to the Slovak Financial Administration and a declaration fee on collection. The item is stored 18 days from the notice, extendable up to 90. See parcels held at customs.

Delivered but not received. Check whether someone at home or at work took it, then contact Slovak Post. See delivered but not received.

Claims. For international items, only the sender can claim, so an item from a foreign shop is a matter for the shop and its post. For domestic items the sender, the addressee or someone they authorise can claim, within 6 months of posting. Damage you couldn't see at delivery must be reported by the next working day after delivery. Claim in the app (some cases), by email with the signed form (not for damage) or at any branch; for damage, bring the item with its outer and inner packaging. Slovak Post answers within 30 days (domestic) or 60 (international).

Tracking Slovenská pošta with Peek

For a postal number ending SK with a valid check digit, Peek asks Slovak Post (and Chronopost) and shows "Slovenská pošta has this parcel." when it knows the number. If it doesn't yet, you see "Not found at … yet. Peek will keep checking after you add it." With a wrong check digit Slovak Post isn't asked: check the number. Another country's postal number isn't handed to Slovak Post; pick "Slovenská pošta" with "Change". Links from posta.sk/sledovanie-zasielok and tandt.posta.sk can be pasted too.

It checks every 10 minutes, every 2 minutes once the item is out for delivery, and can notify you when the status changes. Each step goes on a map, with the post office, BalíkoBOX or PoštaPOINT in Slovakia and the country abroad, plus the weight, destination country, delivery time and the name of the place where the item waits (not its address or pickup deadline). Slovak Post gives no expected delivery day. Times in Slovakia are Bratislava time; a step abroad in a country with several time zones doesn't appear. Statuses keep Slovak Post's English wording, except In transit and Out for delivery, which Peek puts in its own words; Picked up still counts as delivered. An item going to a country whose national post is in Peek's list can be followed there.

Questions about Slovenská pošta tracking

Can I track Slovenská pošta in English?

Yes. The English Tracking of Items page shows every status in English; the help and contact pages are Slovak only.

Can I track an international parcel with Slovak Post?

Yes, if it has a postal number: Slovak Post says most can be tracked, though what you see depends on the other country's post, and some update only at certain points.

How long does Slovak Post take to deliver?

Slovak Post's terms give a domestic parcel D+2: delivery on the second working day after posting. Slovak Post gives no figure for items from abroad.

How long does Slovak Post keep a parcel at the post office?

10 calendar days for parcels, unless the sender shortened it. You can extend it once, up to 30 days.
