J&T calls it the tracking number or waybill number. An Australian J&T waybill is JTAU followed by 12 digits, 16 characters in all. Other J&T networks use other shapes:

J&T's sites in other countries run separate trackers, so a JTAU number belongs on jtexpress.au, not on J&T's Philippine, Malaysian or Chinese sites.

Searching. J&T's tracker takes up to 10 numbers at once, separated by spaces or commas. For a number it doesn't know, it says No tracking records yet. Check all 16 characters against the shop's email, then ask the shop. J&T publishes no advice on how long a new waybill takes to show.

J&T Express Australia tracking statuses explained

J&T's scans are full sentences in English, each with a date and time but no depot or town. Some end with J&T's customer service number. These are the ones a parcel usually meets, in order:

The parcel has been picked up from customs clearance. sounds like a customs hold, but it means the opposite: customs is done and J&T has the parcel. More on parcels from abroad in customs.

Because the scans name no place, the tracker can't tell you which state or depot the parcel is in. J&T publishes no glossary of its statuses.

J&T Express Australia delivery and proof of delivery

J&T recruits delivery partners across Australia, local companies that do its last-mile delivery and collection. Its privacy notice describes what happens at your door:

• The driver records each delivery or attempted delivery in J&T's app: photos of the parcel and where it was left, the date and time, the location of the driver's device, a signature where one is required, and delivery notes.
• Drivers are told to photograph the parcel and the spot and, where they can, to leave people, number plates and the inside of homes out of the picture.
• You get the proof of delivery as a link by SMS or another electronic notification. Anyone with the link can open it. It doesn't name the driver.
• If you don't want a photo taken, J&T says to give delivery instructions through its privacy contact, [email protected].

J&T Express Australia publishes no delivery times for recipients, and nothing on safe drop, calling cards, the number of delivery attempts, pickup points or redelivery. Its quote form asks businesses to choose between same-day, next-day and two-day delivery.

J&T parcel not moving, missing or delivered but not received

The page's other addresses are for businesses ([email protected]) and would-be delivery partners ([email protected]). J&T's privacy notice says its call centre and customer support providers are in Malaysia and the Philippines.

J&T Express Australia publishes no scam warning. It does send a proof-of-delivery link by SMS after a delivery, so a text about a J&T parcel isn't necessarily fake. It says nothing about texts asking for payment: check those against delivery scam texts before tapping anything.
