DPD Netherlands tracking: statuses, delivery and contact
DPD Netherlands is DPD (Nederland) B.V., the DPD company that delivers parcels in the Netherlands. Track a parcel with the 14-digit parcel number from DPD's email: on DPD's Track & Trace at dpd.nl, in the myDPD app, or in the box above.
DPD Netherlands tracking number: where to find it
DPD calls it the parcel number. It is in the email DPD sends you, and DPD's tracker, myDPD, contact form and phone line all ask for it.
| Number (invented) | What it is |
|---|---|
00000000000000 | 14 digits: a DPD parcel number. |
DPD's tracker also takes a reference number, such as the one on the driver's not-at-home notice. Peek doesn't: it needs the 14-digit parcel number.
Fourteen digits are not only DPD Netherlands' shape. DPD companies in other countries use it too, such as DPD Germany, DPD UK and DPD France, and so do SEUR, BRT and Chronopost. If the shop's email names PostNL or DHL eCommerce Netherlands instead, the number is theirs. No number at all? See how to find your tracking number.
What DPD Netherlands' tracking statuses mean
Peek reads DPD's steps in English. In the order a parcel usually meets them:
| Status (as Peek shows it) | What it means for you |
|---|---|
Order created | The sender made the label and sent DPD the details. DPD doesn't have the parcel yet. |
Parcel handed to DPD | DPD has the parcel. |
Your parcel is on its way | The parcel is moving through DPD's network. |
At delivery center | At the DPD depot that delivers it. |
Parcel out for delivery | With the driver today. |
Unsuccessful delivery attempt | The driver couldn't deliver it. See "Not at home" below. |
Ready for collection | Waiting for you at a Parcel Point or a locker. |
Delivered | Delivered. Not there? See below. |
Return to sender | The parcel is going back to the sender. |
Other tracking update | A message from DPD with no step of its own. The parcel stays at the step it was at. |
DPD gives Peek each step once, with its latest date and no place: the scans between steps, and earlier rounds of a step, are missing. Times are on Dutch time, unless DPD names another time zone.
DPD delivery in the Netherlands: days, time slots and Parcel Points
Days. DPD delivers from Monday to Saturday. Saturday delivery is not standard: DPD does it only if the sender chose it.
Emails. DPD's contact page says you get an email the day before delivery, and on the morning of delivery an email with a 1-hour time slot.
Changing the delivery. Logged in to myDPD, in the app or on the web, you can change the delivery up to 30 minutes before it. Use the 14-digit number from DPD's email. You can choose:
- another day;
- another address;
- a DPD Parcel Point;
- a safe place around your home, where the driver leaves the parcel.
You can also give "Permission to leave" for one parcel from DPD's notification. For all your parcels, fill in and sign DPD's form, then send it back by email.
Not at home. If you're out and the parcel can't go to a neighbour, DPD takes it to the nearest Parcel Point after the first delivery attempt. DPD has around 1,500 Parcel Points in the Netherlands. The not-at-home message the driver leaves says where to collect it. More in missed deliveries.
Parcel Points and lockers. DPD's network has:
- DPD Parcel Points in shops;
- DPD Lockers, open 24/7;
- DPD Business Points, for more and heavier parcels;
- neighbourhood points of ViaTim and lockers of De Buren.
A parcel stays in a DPD locker for 5 days. After that, it goes back to the sender. See uncollected parcels.
Alcohol. Dutch law requires an age check when alcohol is delivered: you must be 18 or older. Show a valid ID to the driver. The driver records your date of birth, the last 5 digits of your document number and the document type.
Vinted. Vinted wants every question about its parcels to go through the Vinted app, so DPD sends you back there. See Vinted orders.
DPD Netherlands parcel late, missing, damaged or at customs
For a missing or damaged parcel, DPD sends you to the shop or sender, which then deals with DPD. For a refund or a new parcel, ask the shop.
No update. A parcel can be held up somewhere. If it hasn't moved for 3 days, DPD asks you to contact its customer service (below). See tracking that isn't updating.
Delivered but not received. Tell the shop or sender as soon as possible, within 7 calendar days. The shop then contacts DPD. More in delivered but not received.
Damaged. Tell the shop or sender as soon as possible, within 7 calendar days. Send them an email with a photo of the damaged parcel. See damaged parcels.
Returned. Return to sender means the parcel is going back. Ask the shop to send it again or refund you. See returned to sender.
Customs. Goods bought online from outside the EU carry a €3 EU customs duty per item on orders worth up to €150, since 1 July 2026. A €2 Union handling fee per item is also due, whatever the value, since 1 November 2026. DPD's receiving page doesn't name these two charges. It says you may have to pay VAT, import duties and administration costs. If you agreed with the shop to pay the import costs yourself, DPD sends you a payment request with a 14-digit parcel number. Enter that number and your postcode in DPD's Track & Trace to check that the request really comes from DPD. If you disagree with the VAT or duties, you can object to the Tax and Customs Administration. See parcels held at customs.
DPD Netherlands contact and customer service
Peek can't contact DPD or the shop for you. As read on 1 November 2026, on DPD Netherlands' English contact page:
- Phone: 085-0022222 (local rate) for a parcel delivered in the Netherlands, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5.30 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. Have your 14-digit parcel number ready.
- Form: the contact form for recipients, on the same page. It asks for the parcel number, your name, your postcode, your house number and your email.
- Parcel delivered in another country: DPD Netherlands can't give information about it. Contact DPD in the country where it is delivered.
DPD doesn't say whether its staff speak English.
Tracking a DPD Netherlands parcel with Peek
Paste the 14-digit number in Peek. Other carriers use that shape, so Peek asks the likely ones, by your country (your iPhone's region, or on the web where you connect from). In the Netherlands it asks DPD Netherlands early. You see "DPD Netherlands has this parcel." once DPD places the parcel in the Netherlands. While DPD still places it in another country, Peek doesn't take it for DPD Netherlands': a parcel still in Germany, for example, may show as DPD Germany's, and Peek then follows it from there into the Netherlands. If you see "not found yet · Peek keeps checking", press "Change" and pick DPD Netherlands, or use "Change carrier" on a parcel already added. Paste it all the same: Peek follows more than 3,500 carriers.
Paste the 14 digits alone: with a character added after them, Peek's carrier check leaves DPD Netherlands out. A myDPD link from www.dpdgroup.com/nl/ with parcelNumber= works too, and names DPD Netherlands straight away.
Peek shows DPD's status, its steps in the words of the table above, the expected delivery day (with a time window when DPD gives one) and the delivery time. DPD asks for your postcode to show more, and Peek doesn't send one, so DPD gives Peek its short summary. Peek therefore also asks tracking services, and shows their fuller history when one has it.
Sometimes DPD Netherlands hands a parcel to DPD in another country: DPD Germany, DPD France, DPD UK, DPD Ireland, DPD Poland, DPD Portugal, DPD Austria or DPD Switzerland. Once DPD says the parcel is at a delivery depot in one of these countries, or further on, Peek asks that company with the same number. It follows that company once it has a scan as recent as DPD Netherlands' latest. Until then, Peek follows DPD Netherlands, and the parcel's card already names the company that delivers.
Peek checks every 10 minutes, and every 2 minutes once the parcel is out for delivery. After two days without news (12 hours while the parcel still shows "Label created" or "Received by carrier"), Peek checks hourly. It notifies you as you choose: "Every scan", "Important steps" or "Delivery only". To change the delivery, use myDPD.
