FAN Courier tracking: AWB numbers, statuses and FANbox

7 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not FAN Courier. It shows what FAN Courier’s own tracking publishes.

FAN Courier is a Romanian courier founded in 1998, with FANbox lockers across the country; it calls itself Romania's courier leader since 2006. Track a parcel with its AWB number on fancourier.ro's AWB Tracking page, with the link in FAN's SMS or in the FAN Courier app. The AWB comes from the shop or person who sent the parcel.

FAN Courier AWB: the tracking number

AWB (Air Waybill) is FAN's word for the shipment number. FAN doesn't publish its length, but the AWBs its tracker answers are 13 digits, like the invented 2123456789012.

Where to find it:

  • The shop's shipping email or order page. FAN's advice is to ask the sender or the store.
  • FAN's SMS. When the courier collects the parcel, FAN texts you a secure link to follow the delivery, which also shows your PIN. On the delivery day another SMS gives an estimated time and the courier's contact.

No number at all? See how to find a tracking number.

The AWB has been registered by sender means the shop has created the AWB but hasn't handed the parcel over yet. The AWB was not found can mean a typo, or a parcel FAN hasn't collected: FAN registers it automatically once it collects it from the sender.

Lookalikes: Econt numbers are also 13 digits, Cargus AWBs usually 10, and Sameday AWBs start with 1 and letters (1ABC123456789). Go by the courier the email names. More in tracking number formats.

What FAN Courier's tracking statuses mean

FAN's tracking opens in Romanian with an English switch. The page shows one "Shipment status" line and four milestones (Picked up, In transit, In delivery, Delivered), each with a date. These are the English wordings, in the order a parcel meets them:

FAN Courier's statusWhat it means for you
The AWB has been registered by senderThe shop made the AWB; FAN doesn't have the parcel yet.
Delivered to FANboxThe sender dropped it at a FANbox for a courier to collect. Not your delivery.
Picked upFAN collected it from the sender.
In transitMoving between FAN's depots.
On hold. The shipment will leave the country on the next transport.Going abroad, waiting for the next transport.
In deliveryWith the courier on today's round.
Recipient notifiedNot delivered: the courier tried and FAN notified you.
RedirectedSent to a new address or locker under a new AWB, shown on the page.
DeliveredDelivered.
Rejected deliveryThe recipient refused it; it goes back to the sender.
ReturnedOn its way back to the sender, under a return AWB of its own.

Two trip people up. Picked up is FAN picking the parcel up from the sender, not you collecting it. Delivered to FANbox (and Delivered to Collect Point) is the start of the journey: the page's tooltip says the order to pick it up from the locker has been placed with the courier. FAN's tracking has no step saying the parcel waits for you in a FANbox; that news comes by SMS, email or the app, with your PIN.

Each scan has its own wording, such as Shipment sorted, or Shipment taken over for delivery and Delivery in process (both out for delivery), which the page sums up as above. It hides anything after a delivery.

FAN Courier delivery, FANbox and missed deliveries

Standard parcels arrive in 1 to 3 working days from collection, FAN says. Couriers deliver Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:00, and on Saturday 9:00 to 14:00 only when the sender chose Saturday delivery.

Not home. FAN includes two delivery attempts. The courier tries again the next day; with the link in the SMS or in the app you can pick another day, send the parcel to a FANbox or change the address. A new address counts as a new delivery and usually takes 24 to 48 hours, and needs the sender's consent. You can also ask to pick it up at a FAN office, with your ID, a passport or the SMS PIN.

If FAN can't deliver, its general conditions say it notifies you and keeps the parcel at a locker or staffed point for 5 calendar days from the notice (its Standard page says up to 7).

FANbox lockers. Outdoor lockers open 24/7. The SMS holds a secure link and a four-digit code that shows your PIN; the email and app show the PIN and a QR code to scan at the locker. You have 48 hours from the notification. The FAN Courier app sells extensions of 24, 48 or 72 hours or 5 days, before time runs out. A parcel sent straight to a FANbox and not picked up goes back to the sender; one redirected there waits at the nearest FAN branch. Cash on delivery is paid by card at the locker, and once the door opens after paying you can't refuse the parcel.

Collect Point (PayPoint Colet Expres shops): prepaid parcels only, up to 10 kg. Bring ID and the 5-character code from the SMS or email; the shop keeps it 7 calendar days.

Paying the courier. Card works only if the shop allows it. You can't open the parcel before paying unless the sender bought "Check on Delivery".

FAN Courier parcel delayed, lost or damaged

FAN gives no number of days after which to worry. If nothing moves, ask the shop: it holds the contract with FAN and can open a "Delivery Delay" ticket or email FAN with the AWB, contents and value. See tracking that isn't updating.

Damaged at the door: ask the courier for a damage report, then accept or refuse the parcel. Wrong item inside? Contact the sender: FAN doesn't check contents.

Complaints can come from the sender or the recipient, by phone, email, in writing at any FAN location or by registered post. FAN's conditions set the deadlines: complain within 6 months of posting, FAN answers within 3 months and pays within 30 days of agreeing. If you're not satisfied, you can go to ANCOM, Romania's regulator, or to court within a year of posting. Compensation is paid to the sender unless the sender gives it up to the recipient.

Tracking FAN Courier parcels with Peek

Peek can't tell a FAN Courier AWB from its 13 digits. It asks La Poste and Delhivery instead (and offers Correos Chile, Yunda and Korea Post); when none knows it you'll see "not found yet · Peek keeps checking". Pick "FAN Courier" with "Change", or paste a fancourier.ro link from the Romanian tracking page (/awb-tracking/ with tracking= or awb=). Links to the English page aren't read.

FAN's scans carry a time without a time zone, so Peek doesn't show FAN's own scan list. It takes a dated history from universal tracking services when one knows the parcel, asks FAN Courier again every 6 hours and, if no service answers, shows FAN's current status, dated when Peek saw it. Statuses keep FAN's English wording, except Delivered and Shipment picked up, which appear in Peek's words. Peek can notify you when the status changes.

It shows no expected delivery day and no FANbox name, and leaves out the recipient's name, contents, weight and payment details. A return travels under its own AWB, so this one never shows as returned.

Questions about FAN Courier tracking

Is FAN Courier international?

Yes: FAN offers road transport to most EU countries and air transport worldwide, and has offices in Moldova. Its conditions allow up to 12 working days within the EU and EEA, 14 elsewhere.

Does FAN Courier deliver on Saturday?

Only if the sender chose the Saturday delivery option, between 9:00 and 14:00.

Can I track a FAN Courier parcel without the AWB?

Not on FAN's tracker, which needs the AWB or a reference. Ask the shop, or open FAN's SMS link.
