DPD Austria tracking: statuses, Pickup shops and contact

9 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not DPD Austria. It shows what DPD Austria’s own tracking publishes.

DPD Austria is a private parcel company based in Leopoldsdorf. Within Austria, it usually delivers within one working day of getting the parcel from the shop. Track a parcel on myDPD, DPD Austria's tracking site and app, with the 14-digit parcel number from the shop's shipping email, or paste the number in the box above.

DPD Austria parcel number and PIN

DPD's parcel number has 14 digits. The shop sends it, or DPD emails it when the shop gives DPD your email address; with a myDPD account, it's under "My parcels". The PIN (Parcel Information Number) is on the red and white card DPD leaves when it misses you. myDPD takes both; Peek needs the parcel number. The shapes Peek knows:

Number (invented)What it is
0620000000000014 digits starting with 0620 to 0630, 0632 to 0635, 0643 to 0645 or 0649: a parcel number from one of DPD Austria's depots.
0190000000000014 digits starting with 0101 to 0199: Peek reads it as a DPD Germany number first. DPD Austria may still deliver it (see below).

If your label shows one more letter or digit after the 14 digits, leave it out. If the shop's email names Austrian Post, GLS Austria or another carrier, the number is theirs. No number at all? See how to find your tracking number.

What DPD Austria's tracking statuses mean

myDPD shows each scan with the depot that made it, in German or English wordings. In the order a parcel usually meets them (a Paketstation is a parcel locker):

myDPD saysWhat it means for you
Auftragsdaten übermitteltThe sender has sent DPD the parcel's details, but not the parcel yet. DPD's English FAQ calls it "Order data transmitted to DPD".
Paket unterwegsDPD has the parcel: collected at the first depot, or scanned at a hub on the way.
Im PaketzustellzentrumAt the depot that delivers it. Delivery comes next.
Unfortunately, parcel was loaded incorrectly and will be delivered soon.Loaded onto the wrong vehicle. Another depot scans it before delivery.
In ZustellungWith the driver, on the way to you.
Empfänger leider nicht angetroffen., Unfortunately, consignee not present. Notification was left.Nobody was home. The driver left a card.
Unfortunately, parcel was not delivered. Not delivered on this round. It goes back to the depot for another round.
In Zustellung an Pickup Paketstation, In delivery to Pickup parcel shopAfter a missed delivery, the driver takes it to a Pickup parcel locker or shop.
Paket wurde in der Pickup Paketstation hinterlegt, Parcel was handed over to Pickup parcel shop, Takeover by Pickup parcel shopWaiting for you at a Pickup locker or shop. DPD sends a pickup code by email or SMS, with the address for a locker.
Paket durch Empfänger abgeholtCollected from the Pickup point.
Paket wurde erfolgreich abgestelltLeft at the place you allowed with a deposit okay, such as your garage.
Parcel was picked up by driver from Pickup parcel shopA driver took it from a Pickup shop: early on, the sender's drop-off; after it waited there for you, the way back to the sender.

DPD delivery in Austria: Predict, changes and Pickup points

Predict. If the shop gives DPD your email address or mobile number, DPD tells you in advance when the parcel is coming. On the day, Live-Tracking shows a time window and a map, updated every 15 minutes. The window isn't guaranteed: traffic and weather can change it. For a parcel from abroad, go by the shop's estimate.

Changing delivery. Register on myDPD to change the delivery until shortly before it, with the parcel number or the PIN: another day or address, a neighbour you name, a Pickup parcel shop or locker, or a deposit okay (permission to leave the parcel at a place you choose, such as the terrace). With an account, you can also set a favourite Pickup shop or locker, or a general deposit okay, for every parcel.

Nobody home. DPD can hand the parcel to anyone at your home or office who takes it, without checking their ID. After a first failed attempt, DPD may leave it with a neighbour or, if there's none, at the nearest Pickup parcel shop or locker, and tells you their name and address. The card DPD leaves, and myDPD, say where it is. See missed deliveries.

Collecting it. - Pickup parcel shop: 7 calendar days, with reminders after 3 and 5 days. Show the pickup code from DPD's email or SMS, or show your ID and sign. DPD can't send the code again, and myDPD doesn't show it. Shops keep their own opening hours. - Pickup parcel locker: 5 calendar days, with a reminder after 3 days. You need the code from the email or SMS. Lockers are open around the clock.

Then the parcel goes back to the sender: ask the shop to send it again. See uncollected parcels and returned to sender.

DPD parcel late, lost, damaged or at customs

For a refund or a new parcel, ask the shop: it has the contract with DPD.

No update. Auftragsdaten übermittelt for days means the shop hasn't handed the parcel to DPD yet: DPD asks you to contact the sender. If Live-Tracking doesn't change for several hours on the delivery day, contact DPD with your parcel number. See tracking that isn't updating.

Delivered but not received. As DPD asks, check your deposit-okay place and the neighbour named on DPD's card first. Still nothing? Use DPD's form for consignees ("Where was my parcel delivered/handed over.") and tell the shop. More in delivered but not received.

Lost. If nobody can find the parcel, contact DPD's customer service and the shop. See lost parcels.

Damaged. DPD investigates damage only for the sender, so tell the shop: it claims from DPD and, depending on its terms, offers you a refund, a new delivery or similar. DPD's terms with senders want hidden damage reported in writing within six calendar days at the latest, and visible damage right after delivery, so be quick. See damaged parcels.

Customs. Goods bought online from outside the EU carry a €3 EU customs duty per item on parcels worth up to €150, since 1 July 2026, and a €2 Union handling fee per item, whatever the value, since 1 November 2026. An item is the goods sharing a tariff classification, description and, where required, origin. DPD Austria's pages don't say whether or how it passes these on to you: ask the shop whether your price included them. See parcels held at customs.

DPD Austria contact and customer service

Peek can't contact DPD or the shop for you. As read on 1 November 2026, on DPD Austria's English pages:

  • Phone: 05 03 73 420 (+43 5 03 73 420 from abroad), the service line for private customers, Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm.
  • Online: DPD Austria's contact form for consignees, with the parcel number or PIN, your name and email. DPD asks you to use one channel at a time, as asking in several places slows things down.
  • Post: DPD Direct Parcel Distribution Austria GmbH, Arbeitergasse 46, 2333 Leopoldsdorf.

Tracking a DPD Austria parcel with Peek

Paste the 14-digit parcel number in Peek. No postcode is needed.

If the number is in one of DPD Austria's depot ranges, Peek asks DPD Austria among the first carriers, wherever you are, and shows "DPD Austria has this parcel." once myDPD knows it and its latest scan is in Austria. If DPD doesn't list it yet, you'll see "not found yet · Peek keeps checking". Add it anyway: the parcel shows "Probably DPD Austria" and "Waiting for DPD Austria’s first scan" while Peek keeps asking DPD.

Other 14-digit numbers don't point Peek to DPD Austria: they fit several DPD companies and other carriers, so Peek asks the likely ones. If DPD Austria has your parcel, press "Change" and pick DPD Austria, or use "Change carrier" on a parcel already added. A myDPD link with the number names DPD Austria straight away.

From another DPD company. For a parcel from DPD Netherlands, DPD Belgium or DPD Hungary, once DPD places it at a delivery depot in Austria or later, Peek asks DPD Austria with the same number, and follows it once myDPD has a scan as recent as the other company's latest. Until then, the card already names DPD Austria as who delivers. A parcel from DPD Germany stays under DPD Germany: once DPD places it in Austria, Peek reads myDPD too and shows its scans when they're fuller.

What you see. The status, the history in myDPD's words with each depot's town and country, and the delivery time, in Austrian time (a scan in a country on another clock keeps its local time). A parcel at a Pickup point shows as "Ready for pickup". Peek leaves out names, addresses, the time window, the Pickup point, who signed and the delivery options, and shows no expected date; myDPD gives no weight. For the Pickup point, check myDPD or DPD's card; for the code, DPD's email or SMS.

Peek checks every 10 minutes, or every 2 minutes once the parcel is out for delivery, and notifies you as you choose: "Every scan", "Important steps" or "Delivery only". After two days without news (12 hours while the parcel still shows "Label created" or "Received by carrier"), Peek checks hourly. To change the delivery, use myDPD.
