Aramex New Zealand tracking number: statuses, contacts

8 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not Aramex New Zealand. It shows what Aramex New Zealand’s own tracking publishes.

Aramex New Zealand, formerly Fastway Couriers, is a franchise courier network that delivers parcels for shops from Kaitaia to Bluff. Track a parcel with its label number on aramex.co.nz or by pasting it in the box above. The shop that sent it creates the label, so the number is in its shipping email or on your order page.

Aramex NZ tracking number: format and where to find it

Aramex calls it the label number or tracking number. After a missed delivery it's also on the calling card. Aramex says you can't track a parcel without it: if unsure, ask the sender. Still stuck? See how to find a tracking number.

Aramex doesn't publish a format. The labels seen in its tracking are 12 characters: two characters, then 10 digits.

Shape (invented)What it is
AB1234567890Two letters and 10 digits: the usual label number.
2X1234567890A digit, a letter, then 10 digits.
A91234567890A letter, a digit, then 10 digits.

Lookalikes: Aramex Australia uses exactly the same shape but is a separate network with its own tracking, and Colis Privé in France has 12-character numbers too. A number like RR123456785NZ (two letters, nine digits, NZ) is a postal item: track it with NZ Post.

What Aramex NZ tracking statuses mean

Aramex New Zealand's site is in English only. These are the headings you're most likely to meet, roughly in order.

Aramex's statusWhat it means for you
Tracking number allocatedThe shop made the label; Aramex doesn't have the parcel yet.
Picked up from senderAn Aramex courier has collected the parcel from the shop.
Arrived in destination countryA parcel from abroad has reached New Zealand.
Awaiting customs clearanceIt's lodged with customs, a required step for parcels from abroad.
Cleared by customsCustoms has released it and it's heading to Aramex.
In transitIt has left a depot for the next one.
Your parcel is in our careIt has arrived at an Aramex depot.
Onboard for deliveryIt's with your local courier, on the way to your address.
Attempted deliveryThe courier couldn't deliver it and left a calling card.
Delivery onforwardedYour address is rural: Aramex has handed the parcel to NZ Post.
DeliveredDelivered to your address as per the delivery instructions.
Return to senderAramex couldn't deliver it and is sending it back.

After Delivery onforwarded you may see In transit with our freight partners: the rural agent has the parcel and is delivering it.

A late delivery shows as Parcel delayed, and a pop-up headed Your delivery has been delayed says "Your parcel is delayed, up to 48 hours." Out of time today means the courier ran out of time on the round. Ready for collection at names the collection point where your parcel waits.

Aramex NZ delivery, rural parcels and missed deliveries

Aramex delivers Monday to Friday during business hours, not on public holidays, and can't promise a time. Its service standards, which aren't guaranteed, are overnight within an island and 2 to 3 days between the North and South Island; allow a further 2 to 4 days for rural or out-of-service areas. It can't deliver to parcel lockers or PO Boxes.

The shop picks the service: Authority to Leave (a safe place), Signature, Standard (a signature if possible, else a safe place) or Secure PIN (a PIN sent by email or SMS).

Missed delivery. If the parcel can't be left, it goes to the nearest collection point or back to your local depot, and the courier leaves a calling card saying where. Bring photo ID and the label number.

Changing it. On Aramex's arrange-a-redelivery page you can book one free redelivery to the same address or a redirect to a new address for a small fee. Aramex can't book a specific day or time. In some places you can redirect it to a Parcel Connect agent and collect when it suits you, weekends included. For a depot pickup, contact the depot before you go. If neither redelivery nor pickup happens within 7 days of the first attempt, Aramex's conditions let it return the parcel to the sender.

Safe place for next time. Fill in the Authority to Leave form on the back of the calling card. For all future parcels, give it to your courier or email it to your local depot. The courier is then not liable for loss or damage once the parcel is left.

Rural addresses. Aramex delivers these for an extra fee through a rural agent such as NZ Post.

Aramex NZ tracking not working, delayed or lost parcels

No results. Check the number. Aramex says to try again in a couple of hours if no scan is available yet.

No movement. Service delays can make a parcel look stuck; Aramex's Network Service Updates page shows delays by suburb. See tracking that isn't updating.

Not arrived. Track it first, then complete an online enquiry with the label number.

Delivered but not there. Aramex suggests asking neighbours or your building manager. Photo or signature proof is visible only in an aramexConnect account using the email the sender put on the label. See delivered but not received.

Damaged. Tell the shop as soon as possible and lodge an enquiry with Aramex within 24 hours.

The shop holds the invoices a claim needs, so in practice the shop claims. Aramex's claims guide asks for notice within 7 days of delivery for damage and within 30 days of dispatch for a parcel that never arrived. Cover is up to $2,000 including GST and freight, with no excess. These limits don't reduce your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

Returned. A requested return, a wrong address or failed attempts send it back. Ask the shop.

Aramex NZ contact number and enquiries

Tracking Aramex NZ parcels with Peek

Peek reads Aramex New Zealand's own tracking. The 12-character shape is shared with Aramex Australia and Colis Privé (and J&T for labels starting JT), so it asks them at once and names the one that has the parcel; if both Aramex networks know it, you choose with "Change carrier". A label starting with a letter then a digit isn't offered as Aramex: paste its aramex.co.nz tracking link or pick Aramex New Zealand with "Change carrier". Old fastway.co.nz links work too. The sender's long SSCC barcode number (00 and 18 digits) doesn't work for Aramex New Zealand: use the label number.

It shows the status, the depot of each scan and an expected day when Aramex knows both depots. Delivered and In transit appear in its own words, In transit with our freight partners as out for delivery, the others as Aramex writes them. It drops the collection point and its address, opening hours, pickup code, signatory, photo or signature proof, delivery instructions and references.

For rural parcels handed to NZ Post, it can follow the NZ Post label ("Delivery with NZ Post"). Domestic scans are on Auckland time. Scans on journeys from abroad carry no time zone, so it takes the dated history from tracking services and asks Aramex again every 6 hours. Each scan shows on a map, and it can notify you when the status changes.
