GEODIS tracking: 1G number, statuses and delivery options
GEODIS is a French transport group owned by SNCF, and its parcel and pallet network delivers online orders across France. Track a delivery in GEODIS's recipient space ("Espace destinataire") with the 12-character number starting 1G, or paste that number in the box above. The shop or sender gives you the number, most often in the order confirmation or shipping email.
GEODIS tracking number: format and where to find it
GEODIS says the sender or online shop provides the tracking number, usually in the order confirmation email or the shipping notice. No email? Ask the shop, or see how to find your tracking number. If the sender chose notifications, GEODIS also emails or texts you before or on the delivery day.
The recipient space accepts two numbers. Here they are with invented characters:
| Shape (invented) | What it is |
|---|---|
1G1234567890 | The "1G tracking number": 12 characters, 1G then 10 capital letters or digits. Enough on its own. |
12345678901234 | The 14-digit shipment number ("numéro d'envoi"). GEODIS only accepts it with the delivery postcode. |
Some numbers look close but aren't GEODIS's. A reference like ABCD12EF34 belongs to C Chez Vous, which delivers bulky orders in France. An 8-digit number isn't a GEODIS tracking number for Peek: it could be Heppner's, Colisweb's or Mondial Relay's. Check which carrier the shop's email names.
What GEODIS tracking statuses mean
The recipient space opens in French and switches to English, Spanish or Italian. It shows a four-step timeline with the current step highlighted, plus a dated history with the GEODIS site of each scan when there are dated scans. Here are GEODIS's French wordings in the order a parcel meets them, with the English its site shows for the four timeline steps:
| GEODIS in French | On GEODIS's English site | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
En préparation chez l'expéditeur | In preparation at the shipper's | The sender has registered the shipment. GEODIS doesn't have it yet. |
En cours d’acheminement | In transit | It's travelling through GEODIS's network. |
Mise en livraison | Delivery in progress | It's out for delivery. |
En cours de livraison | – | It's on the driver's round. |
Expédition livrée | Delivered shipment | Delivered, with the date. |
Livraison effectuée | – | Delivered. |
Delivery in progress is GEODIS's out-for-delivery step: the parcel is with the driver, not yet delivered. Until the shop hands the parcel over, it stays In preparation at the shipper's: ask the shop, not GEODIS. A parcel waiting for you at a GEODIS agency shows "Disponible pour retrait en agence" in French.
On delivery day the page can add a live driver map with messages such as "The driver is on the way" and "The driver is coming !". It can also say you haven't booked your appointment yet. When a parcel waits for pickup, a countdown says how many days you have left; another warns that in a given number of days the shipment goes back to the sender. GEODIS publishes no fixed number of days for either. More on stages in tracking statuses.
GEODIS delivery: change the date, agency pickup and neighbour relays
The recipient space shows only the options your shipment allows. GEODIS can offer:
- A new home-delivery date, with a time slot when one is offered. GEODIS gives the driver's time window on the day.
- Agency pickup, if that choice was offered for your area. GEODIS says all its agencies have a pickup point, and the page shows the agency's hours. Bring ID and the email or SMS GEODIS sent. Someone else can pick it up with GEODIS's proxy form, their original ID, your original ID and the message.
- A neighbour or caretaker, named by you, who signs for the parcel if you're out.
- A safe place such as a landing, garage or garden. The driver leaves it there and takes a photo.
- A Pickme pickup point, run by a neighbour. The parcel goes there from the next working day and the point tells you when it's ready. When GEODIS launched these points in December 2024, it said you then have 14 days to pick up, with a secret code.
The page says until when you can change your choice.
A narrower time slot or delivery upstairs is possible only if the sender activated that option. Pallets go to the gate or the building entrance by default.
On delivery morning, if the sender chose notifications, GEODIS sends an SMS or email with the driver's arrival time. Wrong address or phone number? Send your details through the contact form, or ask the shop to pass them on.
GEODIS doesn't publish how many attempts it makes or how long an agency keeps a parcel.
GEODIS parcel late, damaged or not delivered
Late or stuck. GEODIS quotes 24 to 48 hours in France for its standard service and next day before noon for express, but its terms say delivery times aren't guaranteed. If nothing changes for days, see tracking that isn't updating, then ask the shop.
Number not working. GEODIS says to check the format, then contact the sender or shop.
Awaiting instructions. When a parcel can't be delivered, GEODIS's terms say it asks the sender what to do. The shop decides, so contact it.
Damaged or missing items. Check the goods in front of the driver and write precise reservations on the delivery note, paper or electronic. GEODIS's recipient space says transport law lets you report damage or missing goods in writing within three days of delivery. Without proper reservations, GEODIS's terms say no action can be brought against it. Compensation runs through the sender's contract, so start with the shop.
Unhappy with the delivery. GEODIS's terms tell consumers to contact the seller first, then the customer service of the carrier in charge of the delivery or [email protected]. With no answer within 2 months, or one you disagree with, you can go to the consumer mediator AME.
GEODIS contact and customer service
GEODIS's channels for recipients in France, as read on 12 October 2026:
- Recipient space: the tracking page, with a help menu.
- Contact form on geodis.com: choose "recipient" and add the tracking number. GEODIS says it calls back within about two working days.
- Email [email protected] for consumer complaints about a delivery, per its terms.
- Agencies: the agency list gives names and addresses.
GEODIS publishes no phone line for recipients. The shop holds the contract and can chase GEODIS too.
Tracking GEODIS parcels with Peek
Paste a 1G number and Peek names GEODIS at once; no other carrier uses that shape. A link from espace-client.geodis.com or geodis.com with noSuivi= or trackingNumber= names GEODIS too, but only a 1G number inside it can be tracked. Peek can't track the 14-digit shipment number: it doesn't read it as GEODIS, so use the 1G number instead.
Peek reads GEODIS's tracking in French and shows the steps in GEODIS's French wording (the first column above; Livraison effectuée shows as Delivered), with the GEODIS site of each scan on a map, in Paris time. It also shows the expected delivery day, the sender, the service and the weight. A missed delivery, a problem, a return or a parcel held for pickup takes priority over the timeline step. When GEODIS gives steps without dated scans, Peek dates the status when it first saw it.
It leaves out the parcel count, your name and address, delivery instructions and delivery documents. Shipments older than 12 months read as not found. Peek checks every 10 minutes, every 2 once the parcel is out for delivery, and can notify you of every scan, important steps or delivery day only. It can't change your delivery: do that in GEODIS's recipient space.
