Pošta Slovenije tracking: statuses, pickup and contacts
Pošta Slovenije (Post of Slovenia in English) is Slovenia's national post. Track a parcel on its MojaPošta tracking page, which has an English switch, in the MojaPošta app or by pasting the number in the box above. The number usually comes in the sender's message, such as the shop's shipping email.
Pošta Slovenije tracking number
Pošta Slovenije calls it the acceptance number (sprejemna številka). It has 13 characters in the international postal format: two letters for the service, eight digits, a check digit, then the country code. Items posted in Slovenia end in SI.
| Shape (invented) | What it is |
|---|---|
CA000000005SI | A parcel: parcels start with CA to CZ. |
RR123456785SI | A registered letter: RA to RZ. |
EE123456785SI | Express mail: EA to EZ. |
RR123456785CN | An item from abroad keeps the foreign post's number, ending in the country it came from. |
You'll usually find it in the sender's message. Pošta Slovenije's own SMS (sender "Paketomat" or "POSTA") and @posta.si emails carry it too. Parcels addressed with your phone number also appear in MojaPošta's "Moji paketi" (My Parcels) list. Lost it? See how to find a tracking number.
Other country letters mean another post: …HR is Hrvatska pošta, …AT is Austrian Post. The tracker covers the last two months; an older or mistyped number gets "Check tracking number and try again."
What Pošta Slovenije tracking statuses mean
The tracker shows each step in Slovenian, or in English with its language switch. Here are the English wordings, in the order a parcel meets them. Many have a second line, a detail or the next step.
| Pošta Slovenije's status | What it means for you |
|---|---|
The item information has been received in the Pošta Slovenije system | The sender has created the label. The detail line says it is not handed over yet. |
The item has arrived at Pošta Slovenije | Handed in at a post office or centre, or reached Slovenia from abroad. |
The item is expected to be delivered today | With the postman, out for delivery. |
The item is on its way to the selected parcel locker | On its way to the PS Paketomat locker you chose. |
Unsuccessful delivery attempt | It could not be delivered, or was not collected. Read the next step below it. |
The item is ready for pickup at the post office | It waits at the post office the step names. |
Unsuccessful delivery | Nobody collected it from the parcel locker in time: it moves to a post office. |
The item was delivered to the mailbox / P.O. box | Delivered. |
The item has been picked up | Delivered: handed over at the address or to the recipient. |
Unsuccessful delivery attempt. Item is being returned to the sender | Not collected: it is going back to the sender. |
The item has been delivered to the sender | Returned: the sender has it back. |
Unsuccessful delivery attempt means either nobody was in (next step: The item will be redirected to the post office) or nobody picked it up; the line below tells you which. The item was delivered to the mailbox / P.O. box also appears for a parcel handed over in person, with The item was delivered to the doorstep below. And The item has been picked up, like the summary label Picked up, means the parcel reached its recipient, not that a courier collected it.
Delivery, PS Paketomat and post office pickup
If nobody is home, the postman leaves a notice saying where the item waits and until when, sometimes by SMS or email too. How long it waits depends on the service:
- Most webshop parcels (the MojPaket service): 8 days at the post office, counted from the day after the notice.
- Universal postal items: 15 days, unless a sender abroad set a shorter period.
- PS Paketomat lockers (more than 300, open around the clock, code by SMS): about 60 hours, say the help pages (the parcel terms say 72), then 5 days at a post office.
After that, the parcel goes back to the sender.
Changing delivery. With My Delivery, My Choice you can send a parcel already on its way to a PS Paketomat, a Direct4.me box, a safe place, a Petrol station, another address, another date or a post office. The link comes by SMS or email, so give your mobile number when you order. In MojaPošta, it's "Preusmeri paket" (redirect parcel); not every parcel qualifies.
Someone else collecting needs your written authorisation and their ID; for one collection, fill in the back of the notice.
Pošta Slovenije parcel delayed, stuck or lost
Pošta Slovenije delivers most domestic items the day after posting (D+1), at the latest within three days (D+3). Tracking abroad depends on the other country's post sending data. If nothing moves for days, see tracking that isn't updating.
Customs. Goods from outside the EU go through customs. When Pošta Slovenije asks for data, send it quickly, ideally online. Its clearance fee for items up to 150 EUR is 6.50 EUR paid online or 9.00 EUR on delivery; the Financial Administration (FURS) adds a temporary 3 EUR duty per type of item plus VAT. See parcels held at customs.
Complaints. Check the status again, then file online after logging in to posta.si, or at a post office (form P-105 domestic, CN-08 international): within 3 months of posting (6 for international items). Report damage or missing contents at once, or within 30 days of delivery, with the packaging. The recipient may claim instead of the sender. Pošta Slovenije answers in writing within 15 days (2 months internationally); if it doesn't, you can appeal to the regulator AKOS within the next 15 days.
Pošta Slovenije contact and customer service

Tracking Pošta Slovenije with Peek
For a postal number ending SI with a valid check digit, Peek asks Pošta Slovenije (and Chronopost) at once and shows "Pošta Slovenije has this parcel." when it knows the number. If not yet, you see "Not found at … yet. Peek will keep checking after you add it." With a wrong check digit Pošta Slovenije isn't asked: check the number, or pick the carrier with "Change". A moja.posta.si tracking link can be pasted too, and always names Pošta Slovenije.
An item from abroad stays with its foreign post in Peek, but Pošta Slovenije's lookup takes any postal number: pick "Pošta Slovenije" with "Change", or paste a moja.posta.si tracking link for it.
Peek reads the service behind the MojaPošta app, checks every 10 minutes (every 2 once the parcel is out for delivery) and can notify you when the status changes. Each step goes on a map with its post office. Peek also shows the delivery time and the post office where the parcel waits (never a locker). There's no expected delivery day or weight. A step abroad is read on that country's clock; one in a country with several time zones doesn't appear. Statuses keep Pošta Slovenije's English wording, detail line included.
Questions about Pošta Slovenije tracking
Is there Pošta Slovenije tracking in English?
Yes. The MojaPošta tracker's English switch shows every step in English; posta.si is mostly Slovenian, with a smaller English site.
Can I track an international parcel to Slovenia?
Yes, with its postal number: the tracker shows items from abroad once they reach Slovenia. Before that, it depends on the sending country's post.
How long does Pošta Slovenije keep a parcel?
8 days at the post office for most webshop parcels, 15 for universal postal items. In a PS Paketomat, about 60 hours, then 5 days at a post office.
Why does my parcel say "picked up" when I don't have it?
The item has been picked up means it was handed over at its destination. If that wasn't you, check with your household or authorised people, then see delivered but not received.
