DPD Portugal tracking: statuses, Pickup points and contact

9 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not DPD Portugal. It shows what DPD Portugal’s own tracking publishes.

DPD Portugal is the Portuguese parcel carrier of Geopost, the parcel group behind DPD and Chronopost. It delivers parcels across mainland Portugal, Madeira and the Azores, and it is the delivery partner La Poste's Colissimo names for Portugal. Track a parcel on DPD's Track & Trace with its 14-digit number, or paste the number in the box above.

DPD Portugal tracking number: where to find it

DPD normally emails you the parcel number. Missed the driver? The number is also on the notice card (aviso de passagem) in your letterbox. Bought a label at a Pickup shop? It's on your receipt. DPD's tracker takes the 14-digit parcel number or your reference number. No number at all? Ask the shop, or see where else to find a tracking number.

Shape (invented)What it is
0955000000000014 digits starting 0955 to 0988: a DPD Portugal parcel number.
09550000000000IThe same number with its check character, as printed on the label.

Other 14-digit numbers, with or without a check character, also fit DPD UK, DPD Germany, Chronopost and other DPD networks, so check which carrier the shop's email names.

If DPD answers Não encontrámos resultados para … ("we found no results for …"), it doesn't know the number yet. DPD asks you to check it against the email and try again, or to ask the sender.

What DPD Portugal's tracking statuses mean

DPD's tracker opens in Portuguese, with English and French versions. Peek shows its Portuguese wordings. In the order a parcel usually meets them:

DPD writesWhat it means for you
DEPOSITADO PELO CLIENTE/EXPEDIDORThe sender dropped the parcel at a Pickup point.
ENCOMENDA RECOLHIDAA DPD driver collected it; later in the journey, just a hand-over.
ENTRADA EM ARMAZÉMScanned in at a DPD depot.
PASSAGEM POR HUBThrough one of DPD's sorting hubs.
EM DISTRIBUIÇÃOOut for delivery today.
HORÁRIO DE ENTREGA ENVIADA AO DESTINATÁRIODPD sent you the delivery time slot: a message, not a movement.
AUSÊNCIA DO DESTINATÁRIOThe driver found nobody in.
ENDEREÇO DO DESTINATÁRIO INCOMPLETO OU ILEGÍVELThe address is incomplete or unreadable.
LOCKER / PICKUP LOTADOThe locker or Pickup point was full; the parcel goes to another one.
RETORNO ARMAZÉM PARA ENTREGABack at the depot, to go out again.
ENTREGUE PELA DPD NO PONTO DE ENTREGAThe driver left it at a Pickup point or locker for you.
RECEPCIONADO PELO PONTO DE ENTREGAThe Pickup point has it: you can collect it.
DATA DE PERMANÊNCIA EM LOJA EXPIRADANobody collected it in time at the Pickup point.
DEVOLUÇÃO AO EXPEDIDORReturn to the sender ordered.
PROVA DE ENTREGAProof of delivery: delivered.

PEDIDO DE NOVA ENTREGA and PEDIDO DE ALTERAÇÃO DE MORADA only record a request for a new day or address. RETORNO ARMAZÉM (PÁRA AEP) after a missed delivery means back at the depot, not on the way to the shop. A PROVA DE ENTREGA after DEVOLUÇÃO AO EXPEDIDOR is the delivery back to the shop.

DPD delivery in Portugal: Predict, Pickup points and lockers

Delivery times. DPD's domestic service delivers on the next working day in mainland Portugal and in 2 to 5 days on the islands, Madeira and the Azores. Saturday delivery, until 1pm, is a service the sender books.

Predict. If the shop gave DPD your phone number or email, DPD tells you the delivery day and time by SMS or email. On the day, a new message narrows it to a one-hour window, and Live-Tracking lets you follow the parcel on a map.

Changing the delivery. With your parcel number, go to "Receiving parcels" on dpd.pt or open the myDPD app: you can move the delivery to another day or send it to a Pickup point. DPD's innovation page says the new date can be up to 5 working days later. How late? In some cases even during the delivery round, says DPD's English FAQ; up to the day before, says the Portuguese one. The redirection options on your parcel show what's still possible. If you change your mind, the last change counts.

Missed delivery. The driver leaves a notice card with the parcel number; redirect the parcel online. For security reasons, DPD won't hand it over at its delivery centre.

Pickup points. DPD's Pickup page counts about 2,300 Pickup shops and lockers in Portugal (its delivery pages still say about 2,000), many open long hours or in shopping centres. You get an SMS or email when the parcel arrives. DPD's English FAQ gives you 10 working days to collect it, but one Portuguese answer says 7 and another 10, both adjustable to the customer's requirements: count on 7 to be safe. The 10-day answer adds a second SMS 2 days before the deadline; after that, the parcel goes back to the sender.

Pickup lockers. DPD's innovation page counts 500 lockers, at train stations, shopping centres and other places, open around the clock. A parcel waits 72 hours (3 days).

Collecting for someone else. Bring proof of identity and an authorisation form filled in by the person the parcel is addressed to.

DPD Portugal parcel late, lost, damaged or returned

Stuck. If the status stays the same for a long time, or the parcel misses the time DPD gave, DPD asks you to get in touch. On the delivery day, a pause may just be a lost GPS signal or a long stop; after several hours, contact customer service with the parcel number. See also tracking that isn't updating.

Delivered but not there. DPD asks you to use its contact form; see also delivered but not received.

Damaged or lost. At the door, write precise, dated and signed reservations on the driver's delivery sheet; sign without them and DPD's terms assume the parcel arrived intact. Damage must be claimed in writing within 7 days of the actual or planned delivery date; loss or delay within 30 days of dispatch, with the waybill and invoice. DPD's terms are a contract with the sender, so ask the shop to claim; within Portugal, DPD pays at most €10 per kg and €300 per parcel. More in damaged parcel and lost parcel.

Returned. After DATA DE PERMANÊNCIA EM LOJA EXPIRADA or DEVOLUÇÃO AO EXPEDIDOR, the parcel goes back to the shop. Ask it for a new delivery or a refund (returned to sender).

From outside the EU. Since 1 July 2021, DPD notes, VAT is due on all commercial goods imported into the EU; under €150, the seller charged it at checkout (IOSS) or the customs declarant collects it from you. See customs.

Complaints. DPD's site links Portugal's official complaints book, the Livro de Reclamações.

DPD Portugal contact number and customer service

DPD Portugal's channels, as read on 22 October 2026 on its contact page:

  • Phone 21 854 6001 for private customers (+351 21 854 6001 from abroad), Monday to Friday 8:30am to 7:30pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.
  • Email [email protected], and a contact form for requests and complaints, with a field for the parcel number.
  • Maria, DPD's chatbot, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: where your parcel is, when it comes, a new date or place. The contact page also sends you to Maria to correct an address.

The contact page, in Portuguese or English, doesn't say which languages the line speaks.

Tracking a DPD Portugal parcel with Peek

For 14 digits starting 0955 to 0988, with or without the check character, Peek asks the likely carriers, DPD Portugal first, and shows "DPD Portugal has this parcel." when DPD knows it. For another DPD number, paste it all the same: Peek follows more than 3,500 carriers. If DPD Portugal doesn't come up, pick it with "Change", or "Change carrier" on the parcel. tracking.dpd.pt links with reference= work too.

Peek reads DPD's Portuguese tracking, so the wordings stay Portuguese. Once a Pickup point takes your parcel, Peek shows its name; DPD's map, delivery window and the name of whoever signed stay on DPD's page. Peek checks every 10 minutes by day, every 2 once the parcel is out for delivery, and hourly overnight, and can notify you with "All tracking updates", "Important only" or "Delivery day only".

When La Poste's tracking names DPD Portugal and gives its number, Peek can follow the parcel there once DPD shows progress. A Chronopost parcel stays on Chronopost: Peek doesn't move it to DPD Portugal, so if DPD emails you its own number, add that one to Peek too. Peek can't change a delivery or claim for you.
