Singapore Post (SingPost) tracking: numbers and statuses
Singapore Post (SingPost) grew out of Singapore's national postal service, whose history goes back to 1858, and now carries letters and eCommerce parcels to more than 220 destinations. Track an item on SingPost's Track Your Item page or in the SingPost Mobile App, or paste the number in the box above. The number is on the receipt or consignment note the sender got when posting it, so for an online order, ask the shop.
Singapore Post tracking number: what it looks like
A SingPost number has 13 characters in the international postal format: two letters, nine digits and SG. The last of the nine digits is a check digit. With invented digits:
| Shape (invented) | What it is |
|---|---|
RA000000005SG | Two letters, nine digits and SG: an item SingPost numbered. SingPost's own examples start with RA or SM; SG at the end is what counts. |
CNSGS0000000000 | CNSGS and ten digits: a shape Peek links to Singapore Post, though not by its shape alone (more below). |
A number ending in other letters, such as DE, comes from another country's post. Ordinary mail has no number. Can't find yours? See how to find a tracking number.
Singapore Post tracking statuses explained
SingPost's tracker lists the newest scan first, with its date, time and sometimes a place. These are the wordings Peek knows, roughly in the order a parcel meets them:
| SingPost says | What it means for you |
|---|---|
SingPost has received your order information, but not your item yet | The sender has booked it. SingPost doesn't have it yet. |
Accepted at Drop-Off Point | The sender dropped it off. |
Item received by SingPost | SingPost has it. |
Item Received at Sorting Facility, Item is with SingPost (Singapore) for processing. | Being sorted in Singapore. |
Further processing in progress | Still being processed. |
Despatched to overseas | It has left Singapore for the destination country. |
Hold item at office of exchange | Held at an office of exchange, where mail passes between posts. |
Arrival at Destination Post | It reached the destination country's post. |
Receive item at Destination Hub | Received at a hub in the destination country. |
Arrival at Processing Center | At a processing centre on the way. |
Present to Import Customs | Handed to import customs. |
Customs Inspection in Progress | Customs is inspecting it. |
Held by Custom | Customs is holding it: yours for a parcel from Singapore, Singapore's for one coming in. |
Out for delivery., Out for Delivery | Out for delivery. |
Item delivered to letterbox | Delivered into your letterbox. |
Delivered, Item Delivered to Doorstep | Delivered, the second to your door. |
Any other line shows in Peek as SingPost words it. When SingPost's tracker has nothing for a number, it says "We're unable to find details for this tracking number.": the item may have been sent recently, the service may not include tracking, or the number may belong to another carrier. More in what tracking statuses mean.
Singapore Post parcels to Europe: who delivers and customs
After Despatched to overseas, the destination country's post takes over: SingPost says that post is responsible for delivery, and that not every post tracks international mail in real time. Search its tracking with the same SG number. Delivery attempts and pickup then follow your post's rules: see missed a delivery.
EU customs. Singapore is outside the EU, so a parcel from there goes through customs in your country. Since 1 July 2026, goods bought online from outside the EU in orders up to €150 carry a €3 EU customs duty per item, on top of VAT. Since 1 November 2026, a €2 Union handling fee per item applies too, whatever the order's value. An item is the goods in a parcel that share a tariff classification, description and, where required, origin.
Paid before it leaves Singapore. Since 1 November 2026, SingPost says, the commercial shipments it sends from Singapore to Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden go Delivered Duty Paid: the sender pays the duties, VAT and handling fee, worked out at booking, so no tax demand should await you at the door. For the other 11 EU countries, Ireland and Poland among them, SingPost's booking and customs clearance stay as they were for now.
Outside the EU, your own country's rules apply. More in parcels held at customs.
Receiving a SingPost parcel in Singapore
Letterbox or doorstep. Small items that fit go into your letterbox. Larger items, Registered Service mail and Speedpost needing a signature come to your door. If an item doesn't fit or nobody is in, you get a Delivery Notification Card.
Missed delivery. SingPost often tries again, typically the next working day, or moves the item to a nearby post office. You can't pick a date or redirect it, but you can call 1605 to authorise leaving it at your door. After 3 failed attempts it goes back to the sender.
Collecting. With a card, the item waits at the post office named on it for 10 working days. Bring the completed card and your NRIC; to send someone else, fill in their details on the card. A POPStation parcel comes with an SMS and an email holding a collection code: you have 3 calendar days, then SingPost tries up to two more deliveries before returning it. See uncollected parcels.
GST and duty. When GST or duty is due on a parcel coming in by post or Speedpost, SingPost collects it for Singapore Customs and holds the parcel until it's paid. It sends you a notice. Pay within 14 days of the notice, in the SingPost Mobile App (Pay with SAM), on SAM Online, at a POPDrop kiosk or at a post office, or the parcel goes back. SingPost adds a S$10.90 handling fee per consignment, plus a S$10.90 admin fee if no invoice is attached (invoices can go to g-dps@singpost.com). Delivery usually follows within 2 to 3 working days of payment. If tracking shows it on hold and no notice has come after 3 working days, contact SingPost.
Scams. Singapore Customs never charges a clearance fee, and SingPost never takes payment through a link: see delivery scam texts.
Singapore Post tracking not updating, lost or returned
Quiet after it left Singapore. After Despatched to overseas, follow the destination post's tracking with the same number, and allow time for customs. More in why tracking stops updating.
Lost or damaged. Claim through SingPost's online enquiry form within 30 days from the date of sending, with the tracking number, the sender's and recipient's details, and a description and value of the item. SingPost pays up to the declared value, capped at S$150 for Speedpost International and S$68 for Speedpost Saver International. For an online order, tell the shop too: see lost parcels.
Delivered but not there. In Singapore, check your letterbox and the riser outside your unit, ask your household, then contact SingPost, which can send a proof of delivery for signed services. In Europe your own post delivered it, so start with its tracking: see delivered but not received.
Returned. A parcel goes back after 3 failed attempts, 10 working days uncollected, or 14 days without the GST or duty paid. See returned to sender.

Track a Singapore Post parcel with Peek
Peek recognises two letters, nine digits and SG as Singapore Post straight away when the check digit is right, and shows it with "Detected carrier"; "Change" picks another carrier. With a wrong check digit, Peek says "This number’s check digit doesn’t add up.": compare it with your shipping message, or choose "Track it as typed". Links to SingPost's tracker with tracknumber= or trackingid= work too.
A CNSGS number isn't Singapore Post's by its shape alone, so Peek asks first: "Checking tracking services…", then "Singapore Post has this parcel." when SingPost knows it. If not yet, Peek keeps checking after you add it and shows "Waiting for Singapore Post’s first scan".
Peek shows each scan in SingPost's English wording, with its place, and files the wordings in the table above under its own stages, such as "In transit" or "At customs". It leaves out the reason SingPost can add under a scan, and there's no expected delivery date or weight. Speedpost scans come without a time zone, so Peek reads each on the clock of the place it names, or of the scans around it, else on Singapore time.
When SingPost names the destination country, or names none and you track from outside Singapore, Peek also asks that country's post with the same SG number: DHL in Germany, La Poste in France, Poste Italiane in Italy, Correos in Spain, PostNL, bpost, Austrian Post, Swiss Post, Poczta Polska, CTT in Portugal, PostNord in Sweden and Denmark, Royal Mail, An Post, USPS, Canada Post and Australia Post. It switches to that post once it shows fresh scans, and keeps SingPost's history. The other way round, Singapore as a parcel's destination isn't enough for Peek to ask Singapore Post: it does when the carrier bringing the parcel names SingPost as the one delivering it, as Janio can.
Peek checks every 10 minutes, and every 2 minutes once the parcel is out for delivery. It can notify you of "Every scan", "Important steps" or "Delivery only". It can't contact SingPost, your post or the shop for you.
Questions about Singapore Post tracking
Is SingPost the same as Singapore Post?
Yes. SingPost is Singapore Post Limited's short name, and its numbers end in SG.
Why is my Singapore Post tracking not updating?
If the last line is Despatched to overseas, the parcel has left Singapore: check the destination post's tracking with the same number, and allow time. A brand-new number may show nothing while the item is still being processed.
What does Held by Custom mean?
Customs is holding the item. Coming into Singapore, SingPost says an item on hold is waiting for GST or duty to be paid: it sends a notice, and you have 14 days to pay. From Singapore, it's your country's customs: see parcels held at customs.
How long does Singapore Post take to deliver?
SingPost's estimates from Singapore to major cities: 2 to 9 working days for Speedpost Express International, 3 to 14 for Speedpost Priority International, 3 to 11 for Speedpost Saver International, and 3 to 15 weeks for Speedpost Economy International.
Can I track a SingPost item without a tracking number?
No. SingPost gives a number only for tracked services such as smartpac, Registered Service and Speedpost: ask the sender.
