Cargus tracking: AWB number, statuses and SHIP & GO
Cargus is a Romanian courier that has delivered parcels for over 30 years, with its own SHIP & GO points and lockers. Track a parcel with its AWB number on cargus.ro's Track your parcel page, in the Cargus Mobile app or by pasting it in the box above. The AWB usually reaches you from the shop, by email or SMS.
Cargus AWB: the tracking number
AWB stands for Air Way Bill, the name Cargus uses for the number that identifies each shipment. Cargus's own example has 10 digits, 1234567890, and it warns that the format can vary.
Where to find it:
- The shop's shipping email. An online shop sends the AWB once the parcel is in Cargus's system, not before.
- An SMS from the shop.
- The label, as a barcode.
The AWB isn't your order number. Lost the email or SMS? Cargus says to ask the shop you ordered from. More in how to find a tracking number.
Ten digits also fit other carriers: DHL, Relais Colis, TIPSA and others use numbers of that length. Go by the courier the shop's email or the SMS names, and see tracking number formats.
What Cargus tracking statuses mean
cargus.ro opens in Romanian; its English tracker shows English wordings. The website shows only the latest status and a date, while the Cargus Mobile app lists each scan with its town. These are the English wordings, in the order a parcel meets them:
| Cargus's status | What it means for you |
|---|---|
New | The AWB exists; Cargus has no scan of the parcel yet. |
Pickup shipment | A courier collected the parcel from the sender. |
Drop off at delivery location by sender | The sender handed it in at a SHIP & GO point or locker. |
Received in warehouse Cluj [Depozit] | It arrived at the Cargus depot in that town; the town changes. |
Consolidation scan | Sorted in a depot. |
Automatic parcel sorting | Sorted by machine in a depot. |
In warehouse | Summary status: the parcel is in a depot. |
With courier | Out for delivery. |
Delivered | Delivered. |
Shipment delivered by a third party - no delivery details expected: Estimated delivery date | Cargus expects no more delivery scans. |
Three of these trip people up. Pickup shipment is Cargus picking the parcel up from the sender, not you collecting it. Drop off at delivery location by sender is the start of the journey too: the sender dropped it off, it isn't waiting for you. And Cargus doesn't explain the long third-party wording, which can follow a depot scan; if it appears and nothing arrives, ask the shop.
In Romanian the same steps read Expediere colectata, Expedierea se afla in curs de livrare (out for delivery) and Livrat or Livrat la destinatar (confirmat) (delivered). A missed delivery shows as Destinatar avizat la adresă: the courier couldn't reach you and the notice says where and until when to pick the parcel up.
Cargus delivery, SHIP & GO points and lockers
Cargus's postal conditions set a domestic delivery time of no more than 3 working days from collection (5 for Sulina). Cargus doesn't deliver to the mailbox.
Not home. The courier makes two free attempts on consecutive working days. You can't postpone a delivery or pay for a third attempt. The notice comes on paper, by SMS or by email, with the reason, the new location and the deadline. After the second attempt, the parcel goes the same day to the SHIP & GO point nearest the address, and you get its address.
Redirect it yourself. In Cargus Mobile you can send the parcel to the SHIP & GO point nearest the address, after Cargus has collected it and before it's on the courier's route. You can't choose the point or a locker.
SHIP & GO points are Cargus's own points or partner shops. The notice gives the pickup deadline; Cargus's postal conditions set 5 calendar days from the notice, at no charge. A reminder comes one day before the parcel goes back to the warehouse. To pick it up, show the PIN or QR code in the app, or give your phone number and the PIN from the SMS. Check its hours in the app. Cash on delivery can be paid in cash at SHIP & GO only at Cargus's own points and Pay Point partners.
Lockers open 24/7, for parcels up to 15 kg. You get a notification with the locker's address and have 48 hours from it, with a reminder 24 hours before the deadline and no extension. You open the locker with the Cargus Mobile app, signed in and standing next to it ("Pick up now").
A parcel nobody collects goes back to a Cargus point and then to the sender.
Cargus parcel delayed, lost or damaged
Cargus gives no advice for tracking that stops moving; for an AWB it can't find, it suggests asking the sender or Cargus. See tracking that isn't updating. Cargus says it isn't responsible for delays on standard services.
Damaged parcel: you can note the damage on the transport note at the door, but not doing so doesn't take away your right to complain. Cargus's FAQ says to call 021 9330 or email [email protected].
Complaints can come from the sender or the recipient, within 6 calendar months of posting: by email to [email protected], through the online complaints form, by post, at a staffed point or by phone. Give all the facts, the matching evidence, your contact details and your bank details if you want compensation by transfer. Cargus answers within 3 months and pays within 30 days of agreeing. Without declared value, compensation for loss or damage is 5 times the service price. Not resolved in time? You can go to ANCOM, Romania's regulator, with proof of your first complaint, or to court within a year.
Unwanted parcel: contact the seller about its return policy.

Tracking Cargus parcels with Peek
Peek can't tell a Cargus AWB from its digits. A 10-digit number is asked of Relais Colis, TIPSA and DHL eCommerce Iberia (and DHL Express when its check digit fits); a 9-digit one isn't asked of any carrier. When none knows it you'll see "not found yet · Peek keeps checking": pick "Cargus" with "Change". Or paste a cargus.ro tracking link, Romanian or English, which names Cargus whatever the number.
Peek reads the service behind the Cargus app, which knows some parcels the website reports as not found. Cargus's scans carry a time without a time zone, so Peek doesn't list them. It takes a dated history from universal tracking services when one knows the parcel, asks Cargus again every 6 hours and, if no service answers, shows Cargus's current status, dated when Peek saw it. Cargus's statuses keep its own wording, mostly English with a few in Romanian, except Delivered, shown in Peek's own words, and you can be notified when the status changes.
It shows no expected delivery day, pickup point or weight, and leaves out who signed, the delivery PIN, the sender's reference and the parcel count.
Questions about Cargus tracking
Why does Cargus say "Parcel not found"?
Usually the AWB is mistyped or Cargus hasn't collected the parcel yet; Cargus suggests waiting a few hours. The website tracker sometimes misses parcels the Cargus Mobile app knows, so try the app too.
How long does Cargus delivery take?
Within Romania, no more than 3 working days from collection under Cargus's postal conditions, 5 for Sulina.
Where is my Cargus delivery point?
After two missed attempts, at the SHIP & GO point nearest your address; the notification gives its address. Large parcels wait at the local Cargus warehouse.
Do I need the Cargus app to open a locker?
Yes. Cargus lockers open only with the Cargus Mobile app, signed in, with internet, while you stand next to the locker.
