DPD Switzerland tracking: statuses, delivery and contact

6 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not DPD Switzerland. It shows what DPD Switzerland’s own tracking publishes.

DPD Switzerland is DPD (Schweiz) AG in Buchs ZH, a parcel carrier in the Geopost network with over 1,000 DPD Pickup Locations. Track a parcel on myDPD with its 14-digit parcel number, or paste it in the box above. It usually comes by email, and it's on the card DPD leaves if it misses you.

Where to find your DPD Switzerland tracking number

You usually get the parcel number by email, often from the shop. After a missed delivery it's also on DPD's notification card, whose barcode myDPD can scan. No email? See how to find your tracking number.

Number (invented)What it is
06090000000000The 14-digit parcel number. DPD's claim forms say Swiss ones start with 060.
06090000000000UThe same with a check character after it, which DPD's Swiss pages don't mention.

The card's notification number, starting P00, isn't the parcel number: it books a new delivery. If myDPD finds nothing, the parcel may not have reached DPD yet, the number may be over 31 days old and archived or it may be wrong (DPD's have 14 digits). Fourteen digits also fit DPD Germany, DPD France, DPD UK, SEUR, BRT and others, so check which carrier the shop's email names.

What DPD Switzerland's tracking statuses mean

myDPD comes in English, German, French and Italian. In the order a parcel meets them, with both wordings where DPD uses two:

DPD saysWhat it means for you
Order createdLabel created: DPD doesn't have the parcel yet.
Parcel handed to DPDDPD has it from the sender.
Your parcel is on its way, In transitMoving through DPD's network.
At delivery center, At delivery centreAt the depot that delivers it.
Parcel out for deliveryWith the driver, due today.
Unsuccessful delivery attemptYou were missed: look for a card in your letterbox.
Ready for collection, Available for collectionReady for pickup at a DPD Pickup Location.
Delivered, Your parcel has been delivered successfullyDelivered.
Return to sender, Return to shipperGoing back to the sender.
Delivered (Returned to Sender)Back with the sender, not with you.

myDPD also asks for your postcode under "Data protection", or lets you "Continue without verification". Without it, DPD shows one line per step. With it, DPD adds its own scans, such as Your parcel arrived at our hub, and notices: Your parcel will be delivered to a safe place according to your instructions means your drop-off permission applies.

DPD delivery in Switzerland: Predict, Pickup Locations and missed parcels

Predict. If the sender books it, DPD sends you the delivery day by SMS or email, then a one-hour time slot on the day. During delivery you can follow it live and redirect it until 15 minutes before handover.

Changes. On myDPD you can pick another day or send the parcel to your workplace, a neighbour or a Pickup Location. You can also let DPD leave it without a signature ("Safe place"); from 12 October 2026 that needs a verified phone number.

Missed delivery. DPD leaves a notification card. Depending on the sender's service, it may try again (up to three times, a 2022 DPD article says), leave the parcel with a neighbour within 50 metres, take it to a Pickup Location or return it to the sender; the card notes the Pickup Location if one was used. Book a new delivery on myDPD's redelivery page with the SMS code or the card's P00 number.

Pickup Locations can be used in the evening or on Saturday; find one with DPD's Pickup Location search. DPD emails or texts you when it's there; the shop keeps it 7 calendar days, then it goes back to the sender. Bring photo ID. Someone else needs their own photo ID plus your digital power of attorney or the back of the card.

DPD parcel not delivered, lost or damaged

The sender holds the contract with DPD, so DPD sends you to the sender for damage, loss and missing parcels; the sender deals with DPD's claims department.

No update for days. DPD's help says to use its contact form, with your parcel number. See tracking that isn't updating.

Delivered but not there. Ask the sender, who clears it up with DPD and tells you the outcome. More in delivered but not received.

Damaged. If the damage shows at the door, you can refuse the parcel and the driver takes it back. Otherwise tell the sender, the same day if you can: DPD's 2022 advice gives the sender 7 calendar days from delivery to report it, and asks you to keep photos, packaging and contents for up to 3 months.

Disputes with the sender can go to Ombud-PostCom, the conciliation body DPD names.

Tracking a DPD Switzerland parcel with Peek

Peek takes the 14 digits, with or without the check character, and asks the likely carriers, usually DPD Switzerland first. DPD Switzerland answers only for parcels DPD places in Switzerland: you'll see "DPD Switzerland has this parcel." or can pick it with "Change", as you must for 14-digit numbers starting 10 or 1550. A dpd.com or dpdgroup.com link with parcelNumber= works too, read as DPD Switzerland whatever country it names.

The optional "Delivery postcode" field takes any country's format and is sent to DPD and, when needed, to tracking services. Without it you get one line per step and the expected day, when DPD has one. With it, DPD's scans appear on the map with town and country, plus its notices, the delivery window (in Swiss time), the sender's name and the weight. If DPD refuses the postcode, the parcel page says so and offers "Edit postcode".

At a Pickup Location the shop is named when DPD names it, its address usually only with the postcode. Statuses stay in DPD's English, except plain Delivered, shown as "Delivered" in your language. Your name, address and the proof-of-delivery link are dropped. Peek checks every 10 minutes (every 2 once out for delivery) and can notify you of every scan, important steps or delivery day only. It doesn't follow the parcel to another carrier.

Questions about DPD Switzerland tracking

How long does DPD take to deliver in Switzerland?

As a rule one day for a domestic parcel, from the start of the order, says DPD. International parcels depend on the country, and DPD's business terms call transit times indicative, not guaranteed.

What time does DPD deliver in Switzerland?

DPD publishes no delivery hours. If the sender booked Predict, you get a one-hour time slot by SMS or email on the delivery day.

Does DPD deliver on Saturdays in Switzerland?

DPD doesn't say for home deliveries. Pickup Locations can be used on Saturdays, and DPD's holiday table lists Saturday 28 November 2026 as a delivery day.

Does DPD Switzerland have a contact email?

No. DPD's legal notice says to use only its contact form for parcel questions.
