DPD Belgium tracking: statuses, delivery and contact

9 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not DPD Belgium. It shows what DPD Belgium’s own tracking publishes.

DPD Belgium is DPD (Belgium) N.V., the DPD company that delivers parcels in Belgium. Track a parcel with the 14-digit parcel number: on DPD's Track & Trace at dpd.com/be, in the myDPD app, or in the box above.

DPD Belgium tracking number: where to find it

DPD calls it the parcel number. You get it from the sender, or in the email or SMS DPD sends with the details of your delivery. If you missed the driver, the note in your letterbox has it too.

Number (invented)What it is
0000000000000014 digits: a DPD parcel number.

DPD's Track & Trace also takes a reference number. Peek doesn't: it needs the 14-digit parcel number.

Fourteen digits are not only DPD Belgium's shape. DPD companies in other countries use it too, such as DPD Germany, DPD Netherlands and DPD France, and so do SEUR, BRT and Chronopost. If the shop's email names bpost or PostNL instead, the number is theirs. No number at all? See how to find your tracking number.

What DPD Belgium's tracking statuses mean

Peek reads DPD's steps in English. In the order a parcel usually meets them:

Status (as Peek shows it)What it means for you
Order createdThe sender made the label and sent DPD the details. DPD doesn't have the parcel yet.
Parcel handed to DPDDPD has the parcel.
Your parcel is on its wayThe parcel is moving through DPD's network.
At delivery centerAt the DPD depot that delivers it.
Parcel out for deliveryWith the driver today.
Unsuccessful delivery attemptThe driver couldn't deliver it. See what happens next below.
Ready for collectionWaiting for you at a DPD Pickup parcelshop.
DeliveredDelivered. Not there? See below.
Return to senderThe parcel is going back to the sender.
Other tracking updateA message from DPD with no step of its own. The parcel stays at the step it was at.

DPD gives Peek each step once, with its latest date and no place: the scans between steps, and earlier rounds of a step, are missing. Times are on Belgian time, unless DPD names another time zone.

DPD delivery in Belgium: days, safe place and Pickup parcelshops

Days and hours. DPD delivers from Monday to Saturday, from 8.30 am to 6 pm. On Saturday, home delivery depends on the sender's choice; delivery to a Pickup parcelshop is standard. If the sender uses DPD's Predict service, DPD tells you the day and the time slot.

Live tracking. In myDPD, on the web or in the app, DPD's live tracking shows where the driver is and how many stops the driver still has to make.

Changing the delivery. In myDPD you can change the delivery up to 30 minutes before arrival. You can choose:

  • another day or time;
  • another address;
  • a Pickup parcelshop;
  • a safe place.

Safe place. This is your written permission to leave the parcel without a signature. It can be the back gate, the carport, the garden house, or a neighbour who agrees. You get a delivery receipt with a photo.

Not at home. At a home address, the driver may leave the parcel with a neighbour. If the neighbours are out too, the parcel goes to the nearest Pickup parcelshop. A notice in your letterbox says which neighbour or parcelshop has it. At a business address, DPD tries again the next working day. After the second attempt, it holds the parcel 7 calendar days, awaiting instructions for a last attempt, then returns it to the sender. More in missed deliveries.

Pickup parcelshops. DPD tells you by email and/or SMS when your parcel arrives at the parcelshop. If the notice card names no day, you can collect it at once. Pickup parcelshops are open at least from Tuesday to Saturday. A parcel stays there for 5 calendar days, Sunday included. After that, it goes back to the sender. See uncollected parcels.

To collect it, you don't need the notice card: show proof of identity, such as your ID card. Someone else can collect it with their own ID and an authorisation form you filled in.

DPD depots. You can't collect a parcel at a DPD depot. The one exception is the Flémalle depot in Liège.

Photo as proof. The driver may take a photo as proof of delivery. You can refuse it: the driver then asks for your signature. DPD keeps the photos for 3 months.

DPD Belgium parcel late, missing, damaged or at customs

The sender is DPD's client and can open a case with DPD, so DPD sends you to the shop or sender first: it's often quicker. For a refund or a new parcel, ask the shop.

No update. If the tracking hasn't changed for several days, DPD asks you to contact its team (below). See tracking that isn't updating.

Delivered but not received. Check your safe place, if you set one, and ask your neighbours. Still nothing? Contact DPD's customer service. More in delivered but not received.

Lost. DPD recommends that you contact the sender, who then deals with DPD. See lost parcels.

Damaged. If the contents arrive damaged, contact the sender first. DPD can only investigate and inspect the damage when the sender asks it to. See damaged parcels.

Returned. Return to sender means the parcel is going back. Ask the shop to send it again or refund you. See returned to sender.

Customs. Customs checks every parcel that comes into Belgium from outside the EU. DPD delivers it only once it is cleared and any VAT and duties due are paid. Goods bought online from outside the EU carry a €3 EU customs duty per item on orders worth up to €150, since 1 July 2026. A €2 Union handling fee per item is also due, whatever the value, since 1 November 2026. DPD Belgium's import page doesn't name these two charges.

On orders up to €150, the shop can charge the VAT when you buy, through the EU's Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS). If it doesn't, DPD collects the VAT from you before delivery. Goods from the UK (Northern Ireland excluded) pass through DPD's hub in the Netherlands. If the price you paid didn't include duties and taxes, DPD sends you a payment request by mail and by SMS. See parcels held at customs.

DPD Belgium contact and customer service

Peek can't contact DPD or the shop for you. As read on 1 November 2026, on DPD Belgium's English pages:

  • Phone: 070/222 222 (€0.30 per minute), Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.
  • Chatbot: DPD also points receivers to its chatbot.
  • Case form: if you contacted the sender and the problem isn't solved, DPD's contact page has a form to log a case with its customer service.

DPD's site is in English, French and Dutch. DPD doesn't say which languages its phone staff speak.

Tracking a DPD Belgium parcel with Peek

Paste the 14-digit number in Peek. Other carriers use that shape, so Peek asks the likely ones, by your country (your iPhone's region, or on the web where you connect from). It shows "Checking tracking services…" while it asks. In Belgium it asks DPD Belgium first.

You see "DPD Belgium has this parcel." when DPD files the parcel under DPD Belgium, as it does for a parcel sent by a DPD customer in Belgium. A parcel sent through DPD in another country isn't taken for DPD Belgium's, even once it is in Belgium. A parcel from a German shop, for example, may show as DPD Germany's while it is still in Germany, and Peek then follows it from there into Belgium.

If you see "not found yet · Peek keeps checking", press "Change" and pick DPD Belgium, or use "Change carrier" on a parcel already added. Picked by hand, DPD Belgium follows the parcel whichever DPD company sent it. Paste it all the same: Peek follows more than 3,500 carriers.

Paste the 14 digits alone: with a character added after them, Peek's carrier check leaves DPD Belgium out. A myDPD link from www.dpdgroup.com/be/ with parcelNumber= works too, and names DPD Belgium straight away.

Peek shows DPD's status, its steps in the words of the table above, the expected delivery day and the delivery time. Peek asks DPD without your postcode, so DPD gives it a short summary. Peek therefore also asks tracking services, and shows their fuller history when one has it.

Sometimes DPD Belgium hands a parcel to DPD in another country: DPD Germany, DPD France, DPD UK, DPD Ireland, DPD Poland, DPD Portugal, DPD Austria or DPD Switzerland. Once DPD says the parcel is at a delivery depot in one of these countries, or further on, Peek asks that company with the same number. It follows that company once it has a scan as recent as DPD Belgium's latest. Until then, Peek follows DPD Belgium, and the parcel's card already names the company that delivers.

Peek checks every 10 minutes, and every 2 minutes once the parcel is out for delivery. After two days without news (12 hours while the parcel still shows "Label created" or "Received by carrier"), Peek checks hourly. It notifies you as you choose: "Every scan", "Important steps" or "Delivery only". To change the delivery, use myDPD.
