Lietuvos paštas: Lithuania Post tracking, statuses, lockers

7 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not Lietuvos paštas. It shows what Lietuvos paštas’s own tracking publishes.

Lietuvos paštas (Lithuania Post) is Lithuania's national post, and LP Express is its brand for parcel lockers, couriers and self-service sending. Track a parcel on lpexpress.lt/track, which has an English switch, or paste the number in the box above. The number is in the SMS or email Lietuvos paštas sends you, or on the receipt if you posted the item yourself.

Lithuania Post tracking number

A Lithuania Post number has 13 characters in the international postal format: two letters, nine digits, then LT. LP Express parcels start with CC, CH or HC; the tracking page's own example is CC123456789LT.

Shape (invented)What it is
RR123456785LTA postal item posted in Lithuania.
CC123456784LTAn LP Express parcel, such as one going to a parcel locker.
HC000000000LTAnother LP Express parcel shape.

When a parcel reaches a locker, Lietuvos paštas sends an SMS and/or email with the number, the locker's address and a PIN.

Genuine messages come from the sender name LPASTAS or LP_EXPRESS, never from a phone number.

Other country letters mean another post: …LV is Latvijas Pasts, …EE is Omniva. An item from abroad keeps the number its own post gave it. Venipak, another courier in Lithuania, uses a different shape (V12345E1234567). Lost it? See how to find a tracking number.

What Lithuania Post tracking statuses mean

lpexpress.lt/track shows every step in English, Lithuanian, Latvian or Estonian; post.lt, the main site, is in Lithuanian only. Each step has a short headline and a longer event line. Here are the English event lines, in order:

Lietuvos paštas's statusWhat it means for you
The label for the parcel has been createdThe sender made the label. Lietuvos paštas doesn't have the parcel yet.
Parcel receivedLietuvos paštas has accepted it from the sender.
The parcel is at the distribution centerAt a sorting centre; the step names the town.
The parcel is transported to another distribution centerMoving between sorting centres.
The parcel has been sent abroadIt has left Lithuania.
The parcel was received at the distribution center of the recipient's (or transit) countryIt has reached a sorting centre abroad.
The parcel has been forwarded for deliveryOut for delivery: on its way to you or to your locker.
The parcel was delivered to the UNISEND parcel lockerReady for pickup in the locker the step names.
The parcel has been delivered to the recipientDelivered, or picked up from the locker.
Sent to receiverA headline, not a step: on its way, or waiting in a locker.

Two of these confuse people. The headline Sent to receiver stays from the first sorting scan until you collect the parcel, including the whole time it waits in a locker; only the event line tells you it's ready. And the locker line says UNISEND even for lockers in Lithuania, which carry the LP EXPRESS brand: Unisend is their name in Latvia and Estonia.

If the page says Your parcel could not be found, check the number; Without tracking means the item was sent untracked. Inside Lithuania only registered items show a route. More in what tracking statuses mean.

LP Express parcel lockers, post offices and missed deliveries

Parcel lockers. There are about 1,500 LP EXPRESS and Unisend lockers across Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, open 24/7. At the locker choose "Atsiimti siuntą" (collect parcel) and enter the PIN from your SMS or email. You have 72 hours from the moment the parcel arrives. After that a courier takes it out and you get an SMS with a link: within 4 days you can send it back to the same locker or to another one, once and free. Otherwise it goes back to the sender. A parcel too big for the locker waits 15 days at a Lietuvos paštas service point instead.

Redirecting. To send a parcel that's still on its way to a different locker, open the tracking page, enter the number and choose a new one under "To parcel locker" (there is also "To home address"). If it's too late, you'll see Redirection is not possible or a message that the redirection term has expired.

Courier to your door. The courier needn't wait more than 10 minutes; you sign on the courier's device. If nobody is found, you're told by SMS or email and the parcel is kept free at the logistics centre for 7 calendar days from the day it first went out for delivery.

Post office items. Registered items are brought to your address once; if you're out, a notice comes by letterbox, email or SMS. Bring it with ID. Parcels and letters wait one calendar month, unless the sender's contract says otherwise.

From outside the EU. Lietuvos paštas asks you to pay import charges in LP EXPRESS self-service within 7 calendar days of the payment notice; only then is the parcel sent on to a post office or locker, with nothing left to pay there. Its own fee for an item worth up to 150 € is 6.99 € (2 € when VAT was paid at checkout). See parcels held at customs.

Lithuania Post parcel late, lost or returned

Lietuvos paštas asks you to report a lost or late registered or insured item on 1842. A claim is the sender's, within 6 months of posting, so for a webshop order write to the shop first. Nothing is paid once you have signed for the item.

For an item posted abroad, Lietuvos paštas says to contact the sender. If you spot damage when a courier delivers, have it noted on the courier's device or the accompanying document while the courier is there; Lietuvos paštas does not accept liability otherwise.

If tracking hasn't moved for days, see tracking that isn't updating.

Lietuvos paštas contact and customer service

  • Web form: "Rašykite mums" (write to us) on post.lt, with tabs for claims and international searches. The site also has a chat consultant.

Tracking Lietuvos paštas with Peek

For a postal number ending LT with a valid check digit, Peek asks Lietuvos paštas and Chronopost at once and shows "Lietuvos paštas has this parcel." when it knows the number. If not yet, you'll see "Not found at … yet. Peek will keep checking after you add it." LP Express numbers (CC, CH, HC) are asked of the same two, check digit or not. Links from lpexpress.lt and post.lt tracking work too.

An item from abroad stays with its foreign post, but you can pick "Lietuvos paštas" with "Change".

Peek reads the service behind lpexpress.lt/track in English, checks every 10 minutes (every 2 once the parcel is out for delivery) and can notify you when the status changes. It shows each step on a map with its town, sorting centre or country, customs steps, the time it was delivered and the locker or post office where the parcel waits, with its town (not the street or postcode). Lithuanian steps are on Vilnius time. There's no expected arrival day and no weight. Statuses keep Lietuvos paštas's English wording; a return shows as a problem.
