Correos de Chile tracking: numbers and statuses explained
Correos de Chile is Chile's postal service. Chile's customs service says that online orders sent to Chile by post come in through Correos de Chile, while courier companies bring others. Correos de Chile's own tracker is at www.correos.cl/seguimiento-en-linea. Or paste the number in the box above: this page explains each step. Bought online? The number is in the shop's shipping email or on your order page.
Correos de Chile tracking number: what it looks like
Peek knows two shapes for Correos de Chile. With invented digits:
| Number (invented) | What it is |
|---|---|
RR000000005CL | Two letters, nine digits and CL, the code for Chile: an item Correos de Chile numbered, in the international postal format. The two letters in front vary. The last of the nine digits is a check digit. |
0000000000000 | 13 digits: Peek's other shape for Correos de Chile, but only a weak match. DPD France, Yunda and other carriers use 13 digits too. |
RR000000005CN | Ends in other letters, here CN: another country's post numbered it, here China Post. Peek follows it with that post. |
Spaces and lower case don't matter when you paste a number into Peek. Can't find yours? See how to find a tracking number.
Correos de Chile tracking statuses explained
Correos de Chile's tracker lists its steps newest first, in Spanish capitals, with the office where there is one. The lines Peek knows from that tracker, in the order a parcel gets them:
| Correos de Chile says | What it means for you | Peek shows |
|---|---|---|
ENVÍO ADMITIDO | Correos de Chile has taken the item in. On an item from abroad, this is the first line, before the import. | "Received by carrier" |
ENVÍO EN PROCESO DE INTERNACIÓN AL PAÍS | It is being imported into Chile: customs is dealing with it. | "At customs" |
ENVÍO EN REPARTO | Out for delivery. | "Out for delivery" |
ENVÍO ENTREGADO | Delivered. | "Delivered" |
Peek shows a line it doesn't know as Actualización del envío (an update on the shipment), without Correos de Chile's own words, because such lines may hold details about you or the delivery. Check the tracker on www.correos.cl to read it in full. More in what tracking statuses mean.
Parcels coming into Chile: customs and IVA
A parcel from abroad, such as an online order, goes through customs in Chile. Chile's customs service, the Servicio Nacional de Aduanas, explains what happens to it. Ordered from a shop in China? See tracking from China.
IVA on online orders. Since 25 October 2025, online purchases from abroad up to USD 500 pay IVA (19%) and no customs duty. If the shop or platform is registered with Chile's tax service (SII), it adds the IVA to the price when you pay. If it isn't, the tax is collected at import, by the courier or, for a parcel sent by post, by Correos de Chile. Check the breakdown of the price before you pay. Some goods pay other or extra taxes, such as used clothing, tobacco, alcohol and jewellery, and some need a permit. Above USD 500, you pay the tax at import.
Customs checks. As parcels arrive at Correos de Chile's plant, customs may pick yours for a physical check in Correos de Chile's warehouses. If customs needs a proof of purchase, a certificate or a permit (visto bueno), Correos de Chile tells you what to do and where to get it. Without it, customs can't release the parcel. If duties or IVA are due, Correos de Chile asks you for proof of what you paid, such as a receipt or invoice. Without one, customs values the goods at market prices. Once customs releases the parcel, Correos de Chile delivers it.
Delivery and pickup. Peek couldn't read Correos de Chile's own rules on delivery attempts, pickup or how long it keeps a parcel, so this page gives none. See missed a delivery and uncollected parcels.
Correos de Chile parcels sent abroad
Was your parcel sent from Chile with a CL number? Once it has left Chile, check your own post's tracking with the same number too, such as USPS, Royal Mail, Parcelforce, An Post, Canada Post, Australia Post or NZ Post. Peek asks them for you (see below). If your post has the parcel, ask it about delivery and pickup.
EU customs. Chile is outside the EU, so a parcel goes through customs in your country. Since 1 July 2026, goods bought online from outside the EU in orders up to €150 carry a €3 EU customs duty per item. Since 1 November 2026, a €2 Union handling fee per item applies as well, whatever the value. An item is the goods in a parcel that share a tariff classification, description and, where required, origin. Elsewhere, your own country's rules apply: see parcels held at customs.
Correos de Chile tracking not updating, lost or returned
No steps yet. The sender may not have handed the parcel over yet. Filed under Correos de Chile, the parcel shows "Waiting for the carrier", and Peek keeps checking. If nothing comes after a few days, check the number with the sender. See why tracking stops updating.
Stuck at customs. The last line is ENVÍO EN PROCESO DE INTERNACIÓN AL PAÍS, and Peek flags the parcel as "Customs clearance". Customs may be checking the parcel, or waiting for a document or a payment: Correos de Chile tells you when something is needed.
Quiet for days. When a parcel at "Received by carrier" or "In transit" has had no new step for four days, Peek flags it ("No tracking update for four days"). Parcels often go quiet on long flights or over a weekend.
Delivered, but nothing came. Ask your neighbours and the delivery office, then the sender. See delivered but not received.
Lost or sent back. Ask the sender or the shop first: they booked the delivery. See lost parcels and returned to sender.
Correos de Chile customer service and contact
As of 1 November 2026, Peek couldn't read Correos de Chile's website, so this page lists no phone number or office hours: Peek gives only contacts read on official pages. For a parcel going through customs by post, Chile's customs service tells you to check where it stands on www.correos.cl or to write to sac@correos.cl.
For an online order, ask the shop first: it booked the delivery.
Track a Correos de Chile parcel with Peek
Peek recognises two letters, nine digits and CL as Correos de Chile when the check digit is right, and shows "Detected carrier"; "Change" picks another. With a wrong check digit, it says "This number’s check digit doesn’t add up.": check your shipping email, or choose "Track it as typed".
A 13-digit number isn't Correos de Chile's by shape alone. Paste it all the same: Peek follows more than 3,500 carriers. If you add it without a carrier, Peek asks other carriers that use 13 digits, such as Delhivery or Ukrposhta, and tracking services ("Checking tracking services…"), but not Correos de Chile. It files the parcel under Correos de Chile only if a tracking service names it, and no other carrier, with dated steps. So if the shop says Correos de Chile, press "Change" and pick it under "Fits this number", or use "Change carrier" on a parcel you've already added. A number another post issued, such as one ending in CN, isn't Correos de Chile's: if you pick Correos de Chile for it, Peek says it "doesn’t issue numbers like this one".
Filed under Correos de Chile, a parcel shows "Waiting for the carrier" until its first step. Peek then reads Correos de Chile's own tracker and shows the lines it knows in their Spanish wording, with the office, under its own stages, such as "Received by carrier" or "At customs". It leaves out the recipient's name, and shows no expected delivery date. Correos de Chile's times carry no time zone: Peek reads each one on the local clock of the office it names, or of the steps around it. When Correos de Chile's tracker doesn't answer, Peek asks tracking services instead, 17TRACK first, and shows their copy in their own words.
When you track a CL number from outside Chile, Peek also asks your country's post with the same number: USPS from the US, Royal Mail from the UK (Parcelforce for a number starting with E), An Post from Ireland, Canada Post, Australia Post, NZ Post, DHL from Germany, La Poste from France, Correos from Spain, Correios from Brazil, and the posts of every other EU country, Argentina and Peru, among others. It switches to that post once it has a step at least as recent as Correos de Chile's newest, and keeps Correos de Chile's history. From Mexico or China it asks no other post. The other way round, Peek can't look up a parcel sent to Chile under another post's number on Correos de Chile's tracker: it follows it under the post that numbered it.
Peek checks every 10 minutes, more often once the parcel is out for delivery, and hourly after two days without news (12 hours while the parcel still shows "Label created" or "Received by carrier"). Alerts: "Every scan", "Important steps" or "Delivery only". Peek can't contact Correos de Chile, your post or the shop for you.
Questions about Correos de Chile tracking
How do I track a Correos de Chile parcel in English?
Paste the number into Peek. The steps stay in Spanish, but Peek files the lines it knows under English stages, and the table above explains them.
What does "ENVÍO EN PROCESO DE INTERNACIÓN AL PAÍS" mean?
The parcel is being imported into Chile and customs is dealing with it. Correos de Chile contacts you if customs needs a document or a payment.
Do I pay tax on a parcel from abroad to Chile?
Since 25 October 2025, online purchases up to USD 500 pay 19% IVA and no customs duty. A registered platform adds it when you pay; otherwise Correos de Chile or the courier collects it at import.

The parcel may be at customs, on a flight, or not handed over yet. Sent abroad? Check your own post's tracking with the same CL number.
What does a Correos de Chile tracking number look like?
Two letters, nine digits and CL, such as RR000000005CL, or 13 digits. Peek recognises the first by its shape; for the second, pick Correos de Chile with "Change".
