Slovak Parcel Service tracking: statuses and what to do

7 min read

Peek is an independent tracker, not Slovak Parcel Service. It shows what Slovak Parcel Service’s own tracking publishes.

Slovak Parcel Service (SPS) is a Slovak courier, owned by Austrian Post since 2002, that delivers parcels from shops across Slovakia, to your door or to a Balíkovo box or partner shop. Your tracking number is in the shop's shipping email or in SPS's SMS or email: type it on sps-sro.sk, or paste it in the box above.

Slovak Parcel Service tracking number

SPS's parcel number is 14 digits starting 703. On the label it's printed in groups with two extra digits, like 703-010-00000000 00 (digits invented). Those 16 digits are the label barcode; the 14-digit parcel number is the same without the last two.

NumberWhose it is
70300000000000SPS: 14 digits starting 703.
703-010-00000000 00The same parcel as printed on the label, with 2 extra digits.
0000000000000014 digits not starting 703: DPD, SEUR, BRT and others, not SPS.
RR123456785SKA postal number ending SK: Slovenská pošta, not SPS.

If sps-sro.sk answers "Please check that you entered the shipment number correctly (no spaces)", type it again without spaces or dashes. SPS says the correct format is in your confirmation email or SMS. Its tracking form can also ask for the destination postcode or the customer number to show more detail. No email at all? Ask the shop, and see how to find your tracking number.

SPS tracking statuses explained

SPS's tracking page (sps-sro.sk, in Slovak and English) lists every scan with date, time, status and centre. The scan wordings stay in Slovak even on the English site:

SPS statusWhat it means for you
Definícia dátLabel created: the shop has sent SPS the parcel's data, SPS doesn't have it yet.
OdnáškaA courier collected the parcel from the sender.
Prvá registráciaFirst scan in an SPS depot.
VstupArrived at a depot, in transit.
Doručovací hárokOn today's delivery sheet: out for delivery.
Uložený v balíkomatePlaced in a Balíkovo box, ready for pickup.
Informácia o doručeníDelivery details recorded, minutes before delivery. Not a movement.
DoručenieDelivered.
Balík odmietnutýThe parcel was refused.
UskladnenéHeld in storage at the depot.
Návrat odosielateľoviGoing back to the sender.

Two cash-on-delivery steps, Editor hotovosti and Dobierka odoslaná zákaznikoví, are bookkeeping: nothing changes for the parcel.

From there the site forwards you to mySPS (mysps.sk), which shows a progress bar in English or Slovak: Received Info, Taken by carrier, In transit, Delivering, In the collection point (only for a pickup point), then Delivery or Undelivered. Careful: Delivering means on its way to you today, while Delivery means delivered.

Delivery, Balíkovo boxes and missed deliveries

Delivery to your address. For senders, SPS's standard domestic delivery is the next working day after pickup. The courier brings the parcel to the first lockable door of the building, upstairs only by agreement. If the sender paid for notices, SPS tells you by SMS, email or phone at the latest on the delivery day, with the day, any cash-on-delivery amount and a way to redirect. Email notices go out the day before delivery.

One attempt. SPS's terms give the courier one delivery attempt. After a failed one, SPS may redirect the parcel to the nearest free Balíkovo box or partner shop and tells you where by SMS or email.

Balíkovo. SPS's pickup network, formerly SPS Parcel Shops: partner shops and self-service boxes, more than 2,400 points according to SPS's Balíkovo page. When your parcel arrives you get an SMS or email with a PIN; whoever collects needs that PIN. A box keeps the parcel 48 hours, with a reminder 24 hours before the end; a partner shop keeps it up to 7 of its working days. SPS can change these periods in busy seasons, and mySPS offers "Extend storage period", which may cost a fee. A parcel left uncollected in a box goes back to the sender.

Changing the delivery. mySPS has "Flexible Delivery" to change the planned date or delivery type, one change per day. Redirecting to a pickup point needs your email or mobile number on the parcel.

Cash on delivery. Pay the courier in cash (up to €500 unless the courier agrees) or by card. For a box, you pay online through a link sent by SMS or email, then the PIN arrives. Once you've opened a parcel at the door you can't hand it back to the courier: deal with the shop.

SPS parcel late, lost or damaged

No update for days. SPS publishes no rule for this. The shop holds the contract with SPS, so ask it first; see why tracking stops updating. SPS's "Where is my parcel" section opens a contact form once you enter the parcel's details.

Damaged. Check the parcel when it's handed over and report visible damage. Keep the original box and filling and don't use the goods: SPS's Rules for claims void a claim without the packaging. You or the sender can claim through the "Report parcel damage" form on sps-sro.sk, with the parcel number, the postcode or customer number, photos, a description, the amount and proof of content and value.

Deadlines (Rules for claims valid from 1 May 2026): damage or partial loss within 2 working days of delivery; complete loss, disputed delivery or a late guaranteed service within 30 calendar days of SPS taking the parcel. SPS's FAQ says 7 days from delivery, but the Rules for claims are binding, so act within 2 working days. SPS decides within 30 calendar days. Compensation goes to the sender, or to you with the sender's written authorisation.

Delivered but not received. A disputed delivery has the 30-day deadline above; tell the shop too, and see delivered but not received.

Refused or returned. A refused parcel goes back to the sender without delay; Návrat odosielateľovi confirms it.

Slovak Parcel Service contact and customer service

As listed on sps-sro.sk on 12 October 2026:

  • Phone: your local area code followed by 16877, for example 02/16877 (Bratislava and most regions), 055/16877 (Košice), 037/16877 (Nitra), 032/16877 (Trenčín). From abroad: +421 2 168 77.
  • Hours: every working day, 8:00 to 16:30.
  • mySPS: SPS recommends mysps.sk for the fastest handling: tracking around the clock and customer-service requests.
  • Email or chat: none listed for recipients.

Tracking an SPS parcel with Peek

Peek knows SPS's shape, 14 digits starting 703, but it's shared with DPD, SEUR, BRT, Hermes Germany and others. In Slovakia Peek asks SPS first. Elsewhere it asks SPS just after you save the number, not while you add it. If another carrier claims it, or none does yet, use "Change" and pick "Slovak Parcel Service" (searching "SPS" finds it). Type the 14 digits: the 16-digit label code doesn't name SPS. An sps-sro.sk tracking link with shipment_id= names SPS whatever the number; a mysps.sk link doesn't.

SPS's scan times carry no time zone, so Peek doesn't list SPS's own history. It takes a dated history from universal tracking services when one knows the parcel and asks SPS again every 6 hours; if no service answers, it shows SPS's current status, dated when Peek saw it. From SPS it can show the status, the depot of each scan and the weight, with wordings in Slovak as SPS writes them; Doručenie counts as delivered. There's no expected delivery date, and a Balíkovo box deposit shows only as a status, without the box's name. Peek can notify you when the status changes. It can't extend storage or resend your PIN.
