IKEA order tracking: parcels, truck delivery and problems
IKEA tracks every online order on its own "Track my order" page: you need the order number and the email or phone number you ordered with. Small orders go by parcel, with DPD in the UK and Ireland, FedEx in the US, and FedEx or Purolator in Canada, and those come with the carrier's own tracking number. Furniture comes by truck with IKEA's delivery partners in a time window, and only IKEA's tracker and the driver's call or text follow it.
Who delivers my IKEA order?
It depends on the weight of the order and your country. Each country has its own IKEA site, and what each one names:
| Country | Parcels | Furniture by truck | When you hear from the driver |
|---|---|---|---|
| UK (ikea.com/gb) | DPD, orders under 100 kg | IKEA's delivery team: orders over 100 kg, boxes over 25 kg, fragile items | A call 1 hour before |
| US (ikea.com/us) | FedEx, orders up to 50 lbs | An independent delivery company | A 4-hour window, the night before |
| Ireland (ikea.com/ie) | DPD, Monday to Friday | IKEA's truck delivery | A text with a live map link that morning, a call 1 hour before |
| Canada (ikea.com/ca) | FedEx, or Purolator | A transport company, doorstep or in-home | A 4-hour slot, maybe a call about 30 minutes before |
| Australia (ikea.com/au) | Parcel, carrier not named | Truck to the door, or into the home | A 12-hour window to the door, 6 hours into the home |
Live plants and food are in-store only, and some seasonal items can't be delivered.
You can also skip delivery. In the UK, Click and collect is free at every IKEA store; you can also collect from an IKEA or Shift locker or a branded van in a Tesco car park, and smaller parcel orders from a DPD pick-up point. In the US, you pick up at an IKEA store or, with "Collect Near You", at a third-party location such as a FedEx one.

Where is my IKEA tracking?
Track my order. IKEA's own tracker, under "Track and manage your order" on each site, works for every order, parcel or truck. You need your order number and the email or phone number you used to order. Logged in to your IKEA account, you see all your orders. It shows these statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
Preparing order | IKEA has it. You can still cancel or change the date. |
Picking order | Too late to cancel; you can return items once they arrive. |
Preparing delivery | Ready and about to be sent. |
On its way | It has left the dispatcher. |
Delivered | IKEA counts it as delivered. |
Parcels: the carrier's number. In the UK, IKEA says you'll be notified by IKEA or the delivery provider when your order is on its way, or get a tracking number, and DPD gives you options the day before delivery. In the US, you get an email with your tracking number or numbers once the order ships. In Canada, it comes by email when the parcel leaves the warehouse, to track on the FedEx site. In Ireland, IKEA says it can't see more than DPD's tracking site shows.
Trucks: IKEA's tracker. You follow furniture deliveries in IKEA's tracker. In the UK and Ireland the driver calls an hour before. Ireland also sends a text on the morning of delivery with a link to a live map. In the US, the delivery company gives you your 4-hour window the evening before, and you can opt in to texts.
What the parcel carriers' numbers look like (made-up digits):
| Carrier | The number looks like |
|---|---|
| DPD UK | 14 digits, often starting 1550, like 15501234567890 |
| FedEx | 12 digits, like 123456789012, or longer |
| Purolator | 3 letters and 9 digits, like ABC123456789 |
Other shops: find your tracking number. Not sure what you have? Type it here:
Why is my IKEA order late, or why isn't tracking moving?
Delivery dates depend on your postcode, the size of the order and stock. Before you pay, checkout shows the options and dates. What the sites say:
| Country | Parcel | Truck |
|---|---|---|
| UK | Standard at least 5 days; express next day if ordered before 2 pm, or up to 4 days | Selected day 5 to 30 days; express 1 to 4 days |
| US | An estimated date, not guaranteed | Standard within the date range you chose; the others on your date |
| Ireland | At least 3 days | Selected day 4 to 30 days |
| Canada | Usually 3 to 10 business days | On the date and slot you chose |
When nothing moves, it's usually one of these:
- A split order. In the UK, furniture and accessories can come as two deliveries. Track my order shows if an order was split, and the date of the next delivery.
- Not with the carrier yet. In the UK, once DPD confirms it has your parcel, change the delivery with DPD; if DPD hasn't received it, contact IKEA.
- Standard delivery in the US. You get a separate message once the delivery company picks your date.
- The date moved. IKEA UK says not to book time off until it has confirmed the date, and tries to deliver within 30 days of the order unless you agree otherwise.
Ireland gives a clear threshold: contact IKEA if the truck's time slot has passed, or if a parcel is more than 24 hours late. When waiting is still normal: tracking not updating.
Changing the date. In the UK, reschedule parcel and truck deliveries yourself in Track my order until the status reaches "delivery planned"; after that, ask IKEA Customer Support, no later than 48 hours before the date. In the US, you can change the date except for Standard Delivery, but never the address.
IKEA delivery options and costs
UK. The minimum order for delivery is £15:
| Order | Standard | Express |
|---|---|---|
| Parcel up to 15 kg | £5, free for IKEA Family members spending £60 | £10 |
| Parcel 15 to 75 kg | £10 | £15 |
| Truck up to 150 kg | £25 | £30 |
| Truck up to 1,000 kg, or a box over 25 kg | £40 | £45 |
Parcels from 75 to 100 kg cost £10 more. A 4-hour slot for truck deliveries costs £35 or £50 in selected postcodes, and weekend delivery £5 more. Click and collect is free at a store; a DPD pick-up point costs £2, and a locker or Tesco van £5, free for IKEA Family members over £60 or £100. If you don't collect in your slot, IKEA cancels the order and refunds you within 14 days.
US. Every shipping and delivery option needs a $35 merchandise subtotal, and IKEA says it doesn't offer free shipping. Small order shipping takes orders up to 50 lbs, and IKEA Family members save $5 on it. Truck delivery starts at:
| Option | IKEA Family | Others |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (outside your home or the lobby) | $19 | $29 |
| Scheduled Doorstep | $29 | $39 |
| Scheduled In-Home (one room of your choice) | $59 | $69 |
| Express In-Home | $69 | $79 |
Prices are higher in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island and New York. For truck delivery, someone 18 or older must be there in the time window. An IKEA store pickup must be collected within 24 hours of the "ready" email, with photo ID and the order confirmation; Collect Near You gives you 5 days. More: parcel lockers and pickup points.
IKEA order not arrived, missing or damaged: what to do
Look first, then report. In order:
- Check the trackingOpen Track my order: it shows whether the order was split and when the next part comes. For a parcel, open the DPD or FedEx link from the email.
- Look around and askDPD UK may leave a parcel in a safe spot or with a neighbour, and takes photos. FedEx may leave it behind porch columns, landscaping or garage corners. Open every box: IKEA packs several items together, and a label like Box 1(2) means box 1 of 2.
- Contact IKEAUK: 01733 520006 or the chat. US: 1-888-888-4532, or any IKEA store with your order confirmation. Ireland: once the truck slot has passed, or a parcel is more than 24 hours late.
- File a claimTell the driver at the door. In the UK, go to My Purchases, "Manage my purchase" and "Claim products damaged at arrival", and keep the damaged item. In the US, note visible damage at delivery and call within 48 hours: if you accept it without noting it, IKEA may not replace or refund.
- Refund or new itemIKEA UK replaces a missing or damaged item in store, delivers a new one or refunds you, as a voucher if you paid cash. If it can't replace it, it refunds the item and the delivery charge. The goods stay at IKEA's risk until you have them (Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 29).
Missed time window. If nobody is home for a UK truck delivery and you didn't choose "authority to leave", the new delivery is a new, paid service order. In the US you may pay a re-delivery fee. If you chose authority to leave, IKEA UK counts the order as delivered once it's left. More: missed delivery, parcel marked delivered but not received, damaged parcel and lost parcel.
Returning an IKEA order
UK and Ireland. You have 365 days, opened or assembled; opened items go back on a refund card. You can also cancel within 14 days after the last item arrives. In the UK, return to any IKEA store, book a collection on the Returns page, or send items under 10 kg that fit 60 × 50 × 50 cm free with InPost.
US. New, unopened items within 365 days, opened ones within 180. Store returns are free. By mail, fill in the return slip and send it by FedEx or UPS at your cost; the refund comes about 2 weeks after it reaches the store. For a truck pickup, call the support center.
Canada takes opened items back within 90 days, and Australia unopened ones within 365. Where the return's tracking number is: returns tracking.
Can I track an IKEA parcel in Peek?
Yes, for parcels: paste the DPD, FedEx or Purolator number into Peek. DPD UK numbers of 14 digits and FedEx numbers of 12 digits share their shape with other carriers, so Peek asks the likely carriers and shows the one that knows the number. If several know it, press "Choose"; if it shows the wrong one, press "Change" and pick the right carrier. Peek recognises a Purolator number of 3 letters and 9 digits by its shape alone. For DPD Ireland, paste the number, press "Change" and pick DPD Ireland. In Australia, where IKEA doesn't name its parcel carrier, paste the number all the same: Peek follows more than 3,500 carriers.
Follow truck deliveries in IKEA's Track my order, and with the driver's call or text.
