Peek · Universal Parcel Tracker
Accessibility
This page is about Peek's App Store app, on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Works today
The App Store lists two accessibility features for Peek, on iPhone, iPad and Mac:
- Differentiate Without Color Alone: every parcel status is written in words, with a symbol, never shown by colour alone.
- Reduced Motion: with Reduce Motion on, Peek's own animations, the tilt effect and the story that plays by itself on first launch stop. On iPhone and iPad, opening a parcel cross-fades instead of zooming.
In the next update
These fixes are built, but not released yet. They come with the version after 1.1.7.
- Larger Text: first launch, adding a parcel, the Share extension and pull to refresh grow through the largest text sizes.
- VoiceOver: archiving, restoring, muting and copying are announced, headings are marked, and full-screen views close with the escape gesture.
- Voice Control: controls answer to the words they show.
- Contrast: secondary text has stronger contrast.
Still working on
- Larger Text: at the very largest sizes, a few screens still overlap on iPhone and iPad.
- VoiceOver and Voice Control: they need testing on a device before Peek claims them.
- Dark Interface: Settings has a Dark appearance, but Peek starts light, and the Share extension stays light.
- Sufficient Contrast: some text, and the Share extension, still fall short.
